What do you prefer to see CG in? Or any anime? I prefer English because I hate having to divert my eyes away from the action just to read the subtitles so I can keep up with the plot. Even if the English dub can sound melodramatic or corney sometimes. I watched CG once in Jap and a second time in English and I do have to admit that Lelouch's English voice is way sexier ; ) I think his voice in the Jap version is strange because it makes him sound like a 30 year old man rather then an 18 year old. But that's just me. ^^

Admittedly, I twitched a little when I heard the way the dub pronounced Gino's last name, but I can't just flat-out hate a dub just for a mistake I was expecting anyway.

I keep the volume down to avoid disturbing the other people I live with, so the subtitles are in case I miss something. As for dub vs. sub, it's just easier for me to understand the emotion and feelings in my native language. If I ever become fluent in Japanese, I'll probably switch.
I'll only watch subs if I have to or if the dubs are absolutely horrible, and Geass generally has good English actors.

Jun and his sexy sexy voice, Ami and her adorable, cute and badass voice, And sakurai for his oh-so sweet voice.
AND WAKAMOTO !

And I think both of Lelouch's voices are sexy to the extreme. Japanese possibly more so, if only because I love deep voices. Also, I'm not sure that I find it completely believable that the Black Knights would follow someone who sounds as young as the English voice is --- it's not bad, and it fits his age, but it makes him sound less intimidating, I think.

Now when it comes to live action movies, subtitled all the way. No matter what the movie is, for some reason the over-dubbing of live action movies are just terrible, and it's not just the lip-syncing, the acting is terrible.

imo it's kind of silly to complain about lelouch's voice sounding too old when the show has robots and magic eyes. i think his japanese voice fits his personality better and gives him an air of authority that his english voice just doesn't have.

sexyWakamoto. That said, I really need to listen to the English dub since it does have *sparkles* Yuri Lowenthal (one of my favorite English VAs). In general I prefer Japanese dubs to English ones, but really it's a matter of what I "watched first." If I saw the English first (and it was decent), I tend to prefer the English, and vice versa. I usually see the Japanese first thanks to fansubs.
(I also can appreciate the Japanese a lot better after four years of Japanese classes; it's fun to understand some things without subtitles!)

For Code Geass, I prefer the Japanese, because I find the actors sound better for the most part, but I think the dub was very well done.

The english dub isn't even really that bad, the only thing that bothers me sometimes really is Nunnally, but it doesn't stop me from watching. I wish they'd picked someone other than JYB for Lelouch, but honestly, I don't know who else could have done the job well. Maybe if JYB wasn't so already well known, people would like him better because he'd be different.
ohgod I love Yuri Lowenthal so much, he's perfect♥♥♥♥♥
