What do you prefer to see CG in? Or any anime? I prefer English because I hate having to divert my eyes away from the action just to read the subtitles so I can keep up with the plot. Even if the English dub can sound melodramatic or corney sometimes. I watched CG once in Jap and a second time in English and I do have to admit that Lelouch's English voice is way sexier ; ) I think his voice in the Jap version is strange because it makes him sound like a 30 year old man rather then an 18 year old. But that's just me. ^^

I've only seen a little bit of Geass in the English dub, and wasn't too impressed. Johnny Young Bosch for Lulu seems okay, but I got so used to Jun Fukuyama's voice that it just seemed too strange for me to get used to. Kallen's VA seemed bland, Nunnally's just sounded a bit too helpless (the Japanese seiyuu for her made her sound like she was still holding out hope that she'll not be blind and handicapped forever), and Suzaku's VA... *just shakes his head and sighs*

I agree to that~ I have a preference with the Japanese voices due to the air of authority and such. =] Some English voices work.. but sometimes it just doesn't.

I was wondering if someone was gonna mention that... yeah, I'm seconding it.

Uh, why?

I kind of like them both. Japanese is nice because it's the original language, but there are often some things that I only pick up if it's in English (mainly things like sarcasm). I think for CG in particular, though, I do prefer it in Japanese. The English dub cast is decent overall, but I don't like a couple of the key roles. For anime in general, though, I couldn't really say. I just like having the option to watch it in both.

At least they were appropriate since the series is set in America. I personally didn't mind Firo's voice.

Yes, because lurking will clearly help me understand your completely ridiculous opinion.

ALL DUBS ARE BAD
I HATE ENGLISH

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over WEABOO WEABOO WEABOO

You are quite right, I haven't seen or read either.
Mind you, I'm not a sixteen year old girl. So. That probably has no bearing on anything. And, um, I'm not sure what your point was. Troy was an adaptation of The Illiad, not a translation into English.

Heck, the English episodes are actually less censored than the Japanese ones. So I have to admit I don't really see what your problem with them is. :/

Acting as though anyone who likes the dub is inferior to you and a stupid fangirl makes you... maybe not a weeaboo, but certainly very 'elitist'.

What does that have to do with the price of bread?

Watching things in Japanese does not make you more ~cultured~ than the next person, nor does it make those who do otherwise any LESS cultured, so get off your high horse and stop being so goddamn pretentious. Waving around blanket "JAPANESE IS SUPERIOR" statements really makes you look no better than a weaboo, regardless of your oh-so-authentic background.

How not to be a judgemental elitist bitch with bizarre ideas on how to determine someone's intelligence and education?

I think they forgot to teach it when you were there.

Both because I'm too lazy to turn my tv off.

Also the kids I take care of are watching old school power rangers. so I heard JYB and I'm like "GAAAH LELOUCH" and yeah it makes me happy. ;3; one day they maybe geeks like me and feel the same way.

Japanese, because JunJun and Wakamoto pwns.

By elitist, I don't mean "Read and enjoyed The Illiad" I mean "Thinks everyone who doesn't like The Illiad is stupid and uncultured".

Where I come from, 'being book learned' is not synonymous with 'being snobby and pretentious'

Btw, you're what, in your mid-twenties? I don't think you can be saying 'back in the day' with any authority just yet...

Question --- if you hate English so much, why exactly are you a member of an English-speaking comm?
