CC's contract

I'm not sure if anyone posted about this before, so feel free to delete if someone has.

I've been wondering when exactly did CC contract with Marianne, especially with relation to Mao. Did she have a contract with her around the same time as Mao, or what? I know Mao contracted eleven years ago prior to the anime, but what of Marianne? I'd also like to know the relative time that CC was captured by Clovis as well. Thanks!

She presumably contracted Mao after leaving Charlie and VV after Marianne was assassinated. This of course means that it couldn't have happened 11 years before the anime happened. It's a plot hole any way you look at it, created out of the fact that the Marianne assassination and Ragnarok connection subplots were pretty clearly re-done into something that could be tied up in a single episode when the time slot change fucked up their existing plans for season 2.

So yeah, the semi-retconned timeline would be:

CC chills with Marianne and Charlie->Marianne is killed->CC says 'fuck this' and leaves for China (apparently stopping by Japan at some point as shown by her appearance in that one audio drama)->CC meets and contracts with Mao->CC ditches Mao->CC is captured by Clovis.

Sound Drama 0.533 or something, The Secret Base. She encounters Lelouch while he's searching desperately for a missing Nunnally, and he wonders if she's an assassin or something. She says "I was asked to watch over you." Also, she's present in the very first episode of season one, watching Lelouch and Suzaku climb the hill.

Which follows, then, that she can't have been looking after Mao at that point in time at all. I think she must have been with him before Marianne died, and only ditched him after Marianne asked her to look after her children. :/

Marianne was probably dead for a couple of months at least by the time she contracted Mao.
Then she was with Mao for however long it was, then probably left him to head to japan and got captured sometime later.

CC left them directly after they made the deal to kill God, way before Marianne was killed, I thought...? I don't know when she made the contract with Marianne specifically, but it was probably sometime before that.

So anyway, timeline is (as far as I can understand) CC makes contract with Marianne - Marianne and CC enter the deal with VV and Charles - CC ditches them, meets up with Mao - Marianne dies - CC disappears to stalk Lelouch and Nunnally on Marianne's ghost's orders - War of Japan - CC is captured by Clovis.

Or something. I dunno how she got captured by Clovis, though.
