Hi there, first time post I don't need to tell you I'm here coz I love Code Geass
I looked through the memories page for as long as I could manage haha and saw nothing of this, apologies beforehand if it's buried there. Whilst looking for screencaps, oddly enouhg, I found a theory so here is where I disclaim this being my theory [although now I'm pondering over it] and stick everythin spoilery under a cut =]
Okay, so I found the screenshots and whoever had put them there mentioned that after the series finished it was brought up that perhaps Lelouche never died at all. I've seen the theories of him being R.R and immortal and all the rest but I've never seen this. The person claimed perhaps that Sayoko was dressed as Lelouche [she's not in the wedding photo and we all  want Li Xingke to be the photographer =3], plausible since she had already done this when he had to run between Ashford and the Chinese federation, and therefore she died in his place and Lelouche lives on. If you consider his nature, it's likely he could have done this because I'm sure he'd of much preferred to win BUT he had lost a lot by this point. I don't know. Discuss it guys!

One of ZR aspects was about Lelouch atoning about his sin, committing suicide indirectly. He chose that, so yeah.
Fans raved about it, and started making theories like the above, and Okouchi, the writer, said that Lelouch is indeed dead, having accomplished his goals. So yeahx2.

Now, if Sunrise in the future decides to milk the series {possible} they could, if they want, bring Lelouch back, with some fucked-up explanation with the Code.

But, Lelouch faking his death, is way off the table, because it would go against the last arc literally, and even Lelouch's chara as well.
