i thought i'll just clear up anything to do with posting japanese fanart, because i need some clearing up as well.

the two main reasons japanese fanart are posted here would be to share with the rest of the community, or to ask where the fanart came from. other reasons i can't think of currently, so we'll leave that for later.

in referral to these posts, posting japanese fanart is fine. all fanart posts should have credit as to where you got it from. and if the website says specifically not to reproduce it elsewhere, then don't. so this is what i think will work for all japanese fanart posts:

-if you're asking where a fanart you have is from, ask with a link to the image. once someone posts the site it is from, you have 24 hours or so to edit your post, removing your link to the picture and replace it with the artist's site saying there the fanart is. of course, if the artist doesn't say they don't want their art reproduced, then leave your link.
-if you're posting japanese fanart you want to share, post it. make sure you say in your post the source. if it says not to reproduce it elsewhere, which is most likely the case, then post a link to the picture and not the actual picture itself.
-f-locking the post or not is up to the poster. i would rather have requests posts locked, but it is entirely up to the poster themselves.

i do hope that makes sense, coz my brain is not working that well now.
