RULES
(Shamlessly stolen from The twilight drabble-a-thon.)

All genres are allowed - Slash, Het, Femmeslash, Angst, Romance, Humor, ANYTHING.
No "seconding" prompts. It doesn't help get anything written, so just write it yourself!
When writing a repsonse to a prompt, your response MUST BE 100 to 300 words, that's why they're called Drabbles ;).
This is completely un-anonymous, and will have honorific metions at the end of 2009.
Titles are HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
ABSOLUTELY NO CANON PAIRINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED
Feel free to respond to a prompt that already has a fic written, just make sure it is titled differently :)

Velvet Room

Suzaku stirs awake around dawn, when the shadows soften and the clamor from the streets wafts in through the windows. He rubs his eyes, gets up -- and groans, "You know, this 'watching me sleep' thing is not exactly sexy."

"Zero-sama," Kanon says, lilting voice and all, "most teenage girls would disagree with you."

"Thankfully, I'm not a teenage girl," Suzaku quips.

"Oh, you are Zero, though," Kanon says pleasantly. "And as long as His Majesty doesn't stop worshipping you --"

"-- you have been appointed as my personal attendant, I know. Prince Schneizel's personal wish. You've told me this how often?" Suzaku moodily throws off the blanket, getting to his feet. He is careful not to look at Kanon sitting perched atop a velvet-covered chair in the corner of his room, mostly because he doesn't want to look into those eyes right now.

Most of his life is cold now: he wakes up every morning to cold sheets and a cold breakfast, then goes on to fulfill a cold routine filled with cold duties spanning through the entirety of his cold life.

There is one thing that isn't frigid, however: the heat of Kanon's eyes that he can feel on the side of his face without having to look.

Suzaku isn't sure how much he likes it.

"Well then, Zero-sama," Kanon says, leaping out of his chair. White teeth wink brightly in the dawn-streaked room when he smiles. "Today's schedule is --"
