Sequel to my silly project from last summer.
preview:

These were a gift! I'm pretty happy with the way they came out, despite the fact that I did something kind of dumb when knitting the second glove. I, uh, learned some valuable lessons from last time, too, so it was much easier. If anyone's interested in that colorwork pattern, I'll transcribe it, but for now just have the page from my knitting notebook.
Thanks for looking! :D ♥

Not knocking it, I'm just not very good at that sort of stuff.

So far I haven't found quality yarn in my area so I've been buying off of knitpicks. What kind of yarn would you recommend for this project? Worsted or bulky? Any preference? How many hanks did you end up using?
I also forgot to ask: do I HAVE to use double pointed needles? Currently I own circular knitting needles.

And you don't HAVE to use dpns...but you have to make sure that you have a small enough circular needle that you won't be stretching your stitches. I'd say a 9" needle at the MOST. I stick to dpns because it's just easier.

My rounded needles will work fine, then, I suppose. They're about 5" needles.
My first attempt will be done with some cheap yarn so I'm not worried, but I'm planning to make them a gift for a friend for next x-mas so I'd like to move up to softer yarns. Baby alpaca or cashmere blends. Anyways, I digress.
I'm looking forward to this attempt :)

My knitting-fu stops at scarf and some gilet... so everything tube-shaped is an unbelievable miracle, in my eyes. :P
