now that the season has finished, and everyone has calmed down from the shocks which i have yet to endure, i need some feedback now. since we need to make sure that we don't spoil any new fan to the series, there needs to be a boundary as to where the "spoiler" cut should start to be used.

in other words, where should we start cutting things because they are considered spoilers?

personally, i would say around episode 12 because that's where i'm up to, but any other suggestion is fine :D

also, can i request your mom's sub of episode 19 and 23? those two are the only ones missing from my collection... thanks!

I think episode 12 sounds good, but also anything really major that happened before that. Someone new might be poking around the community for episode downloads. :D

Also, I have YM subs (as well as gg) up here (http://community.livejournal.com/fomicry/2234.html) :D

I would say 8, if we're really thinking of new people. If they know the premise of the series, they'll have a good idea what happens in 1-8 anyway, and my policy is 'any little spoiler counts'. Narita Arc is where the characters start to get into their real plots, however slow the start was, and so it counts. Of course maybe I'm a freak like that.

Agreed.

i'd put all spoilers behind a cut. don't know why we need a specific episode. spoilers are spoilers. people who watch only episode one may join the group or people who want to know more will join, so everything under lj-cut pleeez.

i think most people have been ok. they usually post something like 'i wanna talk about euphie's new hairdo' lj-cut blah blah. there are some people who tend to ramble before the cut and on the whole i'd rather they all use lj-cut. i think ppl usually jump on those who do put something spoiler-like up. ^_^

Around 12 is good.

movie6.net has all of the Code Geass episodes under anime. That's where I go to watch all my Code Geass now that Youtube is useless.

This is a very tricky issue. The series is 23 episodes old now and all subs are out. Technically, every episode of everything ever could be considered a spoiler. If you join an active community 23 episodes down the line, having just started or picked up the series again, then I would have thought you would expect spoilers.

If the community really wants to be super sensitive then cut everything, information in the cut.

(My icon is technically a spoiler)...

I dunno, but I myself love spoilers. That way, I get to psych myself into getting excited for the next episode that will come out. That's why we have spoilers at the end of every episode. Err, like thomasvye-san said, the series is almost done and in every geass episode something major happens(that's the reason why we love this show), so you can't really (i think) draw the line. But for those who don't want to be spoiled, maybe we can create a page or something for them where entries with spoilers are filtered out. Is that possible? Err... Just sayin'.

I don't think we need to worry about it TOO much - just put spoilers behind the cut and specify: "Spoilers past episode..."

I've actually haven't encountered a community that worried about icons and such things. I mean, I saw the Euphie ones but I didn't know what the context was. I could make assumptions but I never thought OMG SPOILER. I guess if the text is 'In Episode 22 Lelouch blah blah blah' ie an episode summary on the icon, it would be a problem lol.

I think we should spoiler-cut everything episode 2 and up. I mean, I have to ask, how hard is it to put an LJ cut into your post and say "spoilers for episode __"? New fans are happily unspoiled, old fans have been reasonably polite and will thus earn themselves a smug sense of superiority. Everyone's happy.

I'm with the "spoiler space on everything" crowd. Just in case there are people that only saw episode 1 and want to search "whatever" on this community.
