Title: A World Changed

Pairing/Characters: Leluche/Euphemia if you squint verrrry hard

Summary: Sometimes blind chance saves the world.
Warnings: Spoilers for episode 22, I guess. At least you won't get it unless you watched episode 22. Also, it's my first Code Geass fic, so I'd be greatful for con-crit.

A World Changed

“Even if I told you ‘K…’” he paused, looking into his sister eyes. In the last moment he changed what he wanted to say. “Kiss me- “

Her soft warm lips brushed against his as soon as those words left his mouth. His eyes widened as the red lining faded and she looked around with a confused expression.

The Geass! But it shouldn’t be active! Was he like Mao?

“Leluche? What happened?” she asked, looking at him in that confused manner that made her so endearing as a child. It still did.

“It’s nothing,” he shook his head, picking up his mask.

He had to hide his eye – he couldn’t just walk around, risking he’d force people to do things he didn’t really want them to do! As soon as his face was hidden he felt better. He had control again.

“Let’s go Euphie,” he said and she nodded happily, giving him a bright smile.

Later on, as an old man, he remembered this moment every once in while. He’d remember it and say to himself it was this moment when he changed the world.

Because he didn’t say what he wanted to say originally…

A short and simple story... and I am shocked by how good it is. The implications it carries for the story are profound and thought provoking; truly a lynchpin in that may have changed the outcome for everyone, perhaps even Leulouche's own destiny. The best part of your story is the niggling "What if??" that it plants deep in the reader's mind. At least for me, now I'll never be able to watch or talk about that scene without imagining What May have been had Leulouche's whim made him utter a few different words instead.

Please post this to lulu_euphie too. It's a new Leulouch-Euphemia community, and your excellent little drabble would fit perfectly even on the userinfo page of the community. Fantastic little nugget.

Sorry: Forgot to mention. I suspect it might happen of its own in the future anyways as people write more fic, but would you mind if I borrowed your premise? Specifically, to write fics based around the idea, "What if Leulouch had geassed Euphie into saying 'Kiss me.'" Instead?

Anyway, it was pretty much what I've been thinking about after episodes 22 and 23. I mean, Euphie was one of my favourite character, so I really didn't want her to die. And it really seemed like one of those moments when just a little thing can change the reality.

Darn, you beat me to this. I was writing a 'what if' one as well. ^^

Anyway, short, simple and sweet. It made me thought 'what if?' during that episode as well. I mean, there are so many possibilities out there if he changed his order instead of that order. He could have said so many other things, like ask her to sing the Britannian anthem naked. Or like your story, ask her to kiss him. XXD

So, a really nicely written piece. The kiss just made me go 'awww'. After, Euphie was - is - his first love. ^^

It really was a kind of episode that makes one wonder "what if." I was also thinking that if Suzuka woke up earlier and Euphie would see him while entering, she might have broken the Geass.

Anyway, I wonder how you intend to write the "what if".
