POLL: How do you think Code Geass should end?

Well by now, we've all (if not most of us,) been shocked, hurt, dismayed, and utterly confused by the eps 24 and 25 special. I have my own thoughts and opinions on the matter of who actually 'won' and 'lost' that little scuffle (for those who know what I mean, think about the consequences of each person LOSING, watch and think about the last few minutes very carefully, and you should be able to figure out who COULDN'T HAVE lost, and who really did lose.)[Poll #1031662]

Is it bad that I enjoyed the way it ended? Personally, I wouldn't have minded if it had just flat out ended that way. It would have been really unique for a show like that.

As it stands though, the idea of a second season makes me squee and I'm pretty damn content with the way it ended.

Neatly tied up anime is so over-rated =P

So your poll is more about the actual series ending. You might want to make that a bit more clear. It's hard to tell whether you are talking about the season or series.

I thought you were talking about the season so I voted cliffhanger. If we're talking about the series though....this show must go to 50 episodes. Even way back before they made the official announcement that CG would continue I had a feeling it would have to be longer then 25 episodes. There's just too much plot and if they tried ending it in 25 it would have been rushed and terrible.

There is definitely going to be more geass. At the end of episode 25 they even say so and it's been announced on the official site itself.

Lol, I'm with you. I am bored now of people whining about how it didn't all end 'tidily'. How long have we know there would be a season 2? Did people think S2 would have a completely different story? I am perfectly happy with the end too. ;) It was great.

Nah nah that's cool. Each to their own. I think it's pretty fascinating you like the ending of 25 the way it is. Technically, it was a nice, if not mysterious, and well-rounded ending. I just prefer the Ep 23 version myself. At the end of Ep 23 I was pondering for ages about the final phone call Suzaku made to Lelouche and at that point I was wondering if Suzaku actually KNEW who Zero was, and was saying goodbye to him as a friend. That phone call made that ending really nice for me.

So why did you like the current ending? I guess vague is okay - I'll know what you're talking about anyway.

If Code Geass takes a turn down the LOST path I'm going to be really upset!

I can't vote in your poll, I am afraid, since every option you've offered asks people to agree with you that the end wasn't satisfactory. Some of us think it was and enjoyed it thoroughly. So there we are. *wanders off*

Regardless of my little 'meant-to-be-funny' commentary, you can still say what you think should happen to Code Geass. People have already stated that they really like the ending as it is and there's nothing wrong with that. People found Evangelion satisfying too. Unless of course you're going to tell me Code Geass (especially eps 24 and 25) didn't have any WTFery.

Personally, I'm not so deeply connected to Code Geass that I can say the ending is unsatisfactory or not. Technically it ended rather roundedly. And I personally can't imagine a 2nd season for it at all.

Anyway suit yourself and I'll be sure to put an 'Other' category in the future, for those of us who don't get my sense of humor.

I'm kinda skipping over the 'whining', I can certainly understand the natural reaction to want everything tied up and at first I was very "...WHAT?!" myself, so I can't really balem people for wanting a neat ending. After some thought, it just didn't bother me so much.

I really liked it. I've got no idea until the second season, I'm not sure why anyone is thinking anything about it yet - the first season has only just finished and I've not heard anything concerning the content of the next season.

It's good to know there will be more. I loved ths why the plot went and the animation, especially the hands for some reason. I hope they keep it up in what's to follow =)

It's odd you mentioned Evangelion in your poll since that's another show that I felt I didn't need the movies to wrap the story up for me. I liked the philosophical episodes of that show very much and though I did love and adore both Death&Rebirth and End of, I didn't feel it was needed.

From a media point of view, I'm interested in things that break stereotype because they stand out more and actually require you to think.

If they DID leave it at that it seemed most likely to me that Suzuku would have lived due to Lelouch earlier in the show using the Geass to tell him to live. Since there IS a second season planned though it doesn't really need too much thinking about... but I do still think that Geass command will haunt Lelouch's plans as it progresses.

That's one of the big factors I was keeping in mind when he gave that command :) I'm sure it's going to be important later. For whatever reason, be it lingering friendship or fluke, I don't think Lelouch will be able to kill Suzuku because of the Geass.

Whether Suzuku will be able to kill Lelouch after all they've been through is another matter... We shall see, I suppose.

The way the whole poll and answers were phrased it sounded odd...particularly the "should have ended" instead of just "should end" language. It implies the series is already over. It isn't over, only the season is over. So I assumed you must have meant the season and not the series.
