I think they are just saying Britonia likes to name its 'knight'mare frames after famous historic knights.
yeah you could toss some other significance onto it past that, but in RPG's or whatnot its just common to reuse the same famous names from old history and legend.
very evident in Final Fantasy, but there are LOTS of other places.
