Pairing: Slight Lelouch/Suzaku
Spoilers:Whole series
Summary: My take on what happens immediately following the ending of the show. Unbetaed.
Lelouch hears the shot and uses it as the opportunity to activate his geass. The cavern rumbles, shaking rubble and dirt free from the ceiling and moving the platform up.
Suzaku drops his gun, startled, but he lunges for Zero, determined to exact his revenge no matter the cost. Kallen is a distant though in his mind and he thinks that she should have known better than to side with Zero and that this is her punishment.
The instant the platform stops Zero and Suzaku both notice the abandoned wheelchair by the pool. Suzaku releases his grip on Lelouch and the other man crumples to the ground, eyes dilating, chest beating furiously.
He cries, sobs, wails like an animal. Suzaku looks on as if he’s not there but somewhere far off, watching through a television or reading about it in a book. The calculating and manipulating Zero has had his heart shattered, his sanity destroyed releasing Lelouch, the Lelouch who uses ‘boku’ and is charming.
He sees the trembling and whimpering mass that is Lelouch and he wraps his arms around it, because nothing else is left.
