Hey, the community is getting a tad spammy with the icons posts recently.

Here're a few guidelines, so the community and your flist doesn't look so cluttered in the future (especially when the new season gets rolling).

1. Use lj-cut for your lists of shows/series.
2. Preview 3 Code Geass icons and lj-cut the rest. (I think I saw a couple posts a while back where the member didn't even preview Code Geass icons)
3. Credit fanart sources (do NOT use their art if they have a disclaimer on their page).
4. Please refrain from posting icon posts when there is an active discussion.
5. Tag the post 'graphics:icons'
6. Icon posts are banned while the series is airing.

FYI, there are code_geass_icon  and cg_media communities where you can post to your hearts' content.

Just in time for a mod post that addresses this issue. I personally have gotten enough of fanart icons x__x.

I'd rather icons not posted at all in the community, like how soul_society is run. It keeps spam down. But hopefully this helps. (I'd actually prefer all fan media isn't posted here and kept in a fan media specific community, but that's just my opinion)

Suppose you are a member of a few communities. Nobody wants to see the same lengthy list for each community posted in their flist.
If they want a code geass icon, they'll click on their code geass community. If they want something else, they go to their other community. I don't think most people care about how many icons someone makes. They click if the previews are good. It just makes the community look nicer if the icons posts are short and simple. Many other communities have the same policies.

so...basicly according to rule six you can post no icons what so ever now then...

not while the series is airing. when it finishes up, the community will be open to all posts again. it helps keep the discussion posts on the front page.

there are days where 5-8 icon posts were posted and news/info/discussion posts get pushed down. sometimes people crop the same images over and over.

plus there are at least 3 code geass specific icon communities where all the icon lovers are at.
