Legend has it that the city of Caelum appears once every four thousand years, flickering in and out of existence like a flame that can't decide whether it wants to keep burning or go out. Some say that the city of Caelum is inhabited by angels and that it is a perfect utopia, filled with beautiful sculptures and technology beyond comprehension. They say that when the wind blows in Caelum, one can often hear music akin to the tinkling of bells; if there ever was a paradise, the city of Caelum would be the most likely candidate. Legend also speaks of another city, one that appears as soon as the sun sets and disappears just as light hits the sky in the morning. This city, known as Acerbus, is the exact opposite of Caelum-- where there is order and peace in Caelum, there is entropy and violence in Acerbus. Those who believe in Caelum say that the dead walk and dance about in the streets of Acerbus in a hellish mishmash of debauchery and decadence. Demons are said to stalk the nocturnal streets of Acerbus, seducing those foolish enough to set foot in their territory. What the legends don't say is that both cities are one and the same.
