Hey guys, let's get some good discussion going here!
I especially want to hear everyone's thoughts on the way Lelouch manipulated Rolo (oh, and I guess that is the official spelling now). Is it not what the majority of us predicted?
I didn't either, so that probably makes two of us. I was too busy thinking "Oh no, Sunrise, please don't make Rollo into another I'm-used-to-be-a-heartless-weapon-and-is-still-new-with-emotions character that just wants a family... OH CRAP."
I've disliked Rolo for being a gary-sue from the beginning, so I'm not surprised that he's a character looking for love. I will be most upset if he does become one of Lulu's loved ones, because it'd just add to his 'perfect' character and I really don't want that. I've said it more than once, Rolo makes me think one of the animator's sons said "I wanna be Lulu's brother!" so they made it so.
But if that's all that's wrong with the series, I think it's ahead of the game.
Honest to God! I had my suspicions when he ran into the bullet, but the moment Lulu said "Because you're my brother..." I paused the episode, ran to my girlfriend and cried, "He's playing Rolo like a frickin' flute!" then went back to start it, again. I love watching Lulu work.
I think everyone here is likely to be depressed by the end of this if they keep assuming he has morals (That pertain to manipulation being bad, that is).
I don't really think that Rolo is such a "gary-sue". I mean who really identifies with a mass murdering psycho? Well I don't. Till this episode I didn't even like him at all and now...well he's just being used lol I don't want change place with him. o_O''
Of coruse the whole brother-thingy helpes with all the yaoi fansverice - but Geass is full of that anyway.
Well then, you're the odd man out. Because I think it'd be pretty sweet hanging out with Lulu, having a timehax!geass, and getting love from the cast. Perfect killing machine, awesome knightmare frame pilot, high up in the ranks, and now he's got the love of the fans because he's a confused little boy who just wants a family.
What doesn't this guy have going for him? The only thing not in his favor is Lulu, and I'm saying if Lulu suddenly does become in his favor, I'll be unhappy with that decision by the animators.
He's totally a gary-sue. Out of nowhere and everybody loves him, plus he's 1337. What's not perfect, here?
LOL Gary Sue. Never thought of that but you have a point there. And I won't be surprised if that's really what happened, the animator's son and all.
I love Lulu being pure evil. It feels like he has decided what he's going to do and sticks to that. In the entire season 1, he's still sorta undecided. But then again, he hasn't met Suzaku in R2.
