Hey everyone! I wanted to start a thread on character development, in order to sort of keep track of how the characters in Season 2 have seemingly made progress character wise (or not). I know it's still quite early in the series, but a lot has happened in the past four episodes. This season seems to be moving more smoothly than the first, which I like.
If there has already been a topic like this, please forgive me!
I will stray from talking about Lelouch, however, but you guys feel free. I don't really think I could articulate in words what really became different about him (more or less, he seems pretty much the same, but you guys could prove me wrong).
The Viletta (Villeta?) and Ougi (Ohgi?) relationship interests me. I kind of like them as a couple, even though they were a little "too sweet." What can I say? I'm such a sap. xD As for their relationship, it seems that Sunrise is hinting at a reunion of sorts, between them. Lets hope it's spectacularly overdramatic- I have a feeling that they'll probably meet in some angsty battle. I also ship her with Jeremiah, but poor Orange-kun has been rather dormant lately. D: I have a feeling he might show up again in some strange way, though... I dunno- It's sunrise.
Suzaku's character, I think, has gotten a little hollow. For some reason, I feel like he doesn't really have a purpose because Euphemia's dead... I seriously apologize to his fans! I'm not one of those people who hate him with a passion, but I wonder what he'll do, really. Sure, revenge is nice, and he's a nice antagonist for Lelouch and everything, but really, he kind of seems like his heads a little empty. *knocks on it* I don't know, there's really nothing going on in there except for revenge plots, it seems. Who knows, maybe in this season, they'll bring up more about his father?
I miss Lloyd and Milly. I really do- And I'll stop my fangirling ways right here.
And, who knew Guilford could be so badass? Episode 4 helped me gain more respect for him, definitely. Except for the fact he kind of squashed his own soldier- Bad idea. Is it just me, or did he somehow get seriously buff? Or was he always seriously buff? Ahem, sorry. It just irked me, for some reason. His loyalty to Cornelia is cute. Speaking of Cornelia, I don't remember where she is... She's being tended to medically, right?

Suzaku's turning into a dark character~ xD I mean he's been hiding the fact that he killed his dad for a long time. The death of Euphie woke his dark side up and probably Lelouch's "betrayal" contribute to that. Lelouch was so hesistant about everything that concerns him but Suzaku turned him in just like that x_X *dies* I really think he'd kill Lelouch this time around >.>
and I'm interested in seeing how Rolo will turn out :x Though for some reason I can kind of imagine him defending Lelouch and die... then Lelouch starts laughing & crying at the same time *coughs at her imagination* Anyhow.. :x

Yeah! Rolo's plotline seems interesting. I just thought it was strange that it progressed this far so early, but hey, better than annoying fillers and a slow plot. I thought the first season really only picked up near the end, but this season is continuing the dramatic greatness of the first.

Jeremiah's all weird and genetically messed with, now. I doubt there's a happy ending with Viletta anywhere in that. ...Really.
I miss Lloyd and Milly, too! I was dying last season to see those two pair up for some extreme plots because both of them seem a little off-target to me and that kind of insanity can go places!

Poor Jeremiah. >.> I thought he had potential.

I want to write fanfiction about those two causing havoc together because I really think they'd be good at it.

Sure, he felt betrayed by Lelouch when he found out the truth, but from all I knew of his character in Season 1, I never would have thought he'd turn in a friend so coldly. And not even LUlu, but what happened to Nanali. That made me lose a lot of respect for him (even if Lulu did have it coming). I understand he needed to do something drastic to "change it from the inside" so to speak, but he feels different. It's like they completely tossed out everything I liked about him from season 1 (and he was one of my favorite characters). I liked him more than Lulu in Season 1, but in Season 2... well, I'm not sure there's any character I feel a strong afinity for, as of yet. Except for Rolo(?), Lulu's brother. He may have been a murderous, traitorous little bastard, but I still like him and feel sorry for him, since everyone uses him. And he doesn't hide the fact that he's a murderous traitorous bastard, which earned him brownie points in my mind. XD

Yeah, that's what I feel- His character has dwindled. He's just being emo, whiny, and angsty now. Dx Let's hope that changes, right?
Rolo? Ah, he's okay. Usually I like shotas but he's not appealing to me, but I do think he's a good character, I guess. Typical "w00t I'm not really a good guy" character, but yeah, he made things a little more interesting.

I'm curious about if Lulu's command he gave him using the Geass is still effective. About not dying or whatever it was. I hope they don't forget that, since the Geass seems indefinite. Also, could he be under another character's Geass (seeing how everyone is turning out to have one, but that's a completely different issue). It could be why he's been acting so strange...
Eh, I don't generally like Shota or anything. I just feel kind of bad for him. Especially how Lelouch is totally manipulating him. I have a feeling it will end up blowing up in Lulu's face though. It should be an interesting sub-plot. Lelouch... seems to have gotten even more ruthless than in last season, or is that just me? I think a large part of that is because Nanali is missing. Let's hope she turns up unharmed or Lelouch will totally go off the deep end.

I'm sure it is- I mean, it's Code Geass. Dx They bring back up things that the fans have long forgotten. I sure forgot about that.
Yes, Lelouch has gotten considerably more ruthless... But that's kind of typical for bad guy heroes. Their characters usually progress in these two ways:
1. Better, better and better, which leads to a happy ending.
2. Worse, worse, and worse, which leads to a sad ending.
This is Geass though- Either type of ending could be possible, which is kind of nice. Either way, we'll get some sort of surprise.
I do feel sorry for Rolo a little, though. D: *pat pat* Lelouch manipulated him easily.

Villetta and Ougi is so so for me. They're cute, but really I liked it better when she didn't have her memory. I liked that theme they brought together, that even though theres a war going on, theres still people that are happy, and mostly unaffected by it. They just brought a certain light thats just gone now. Unless she pulls a gun on him again, or confesses she wants to go back to the way things were when she didn't have her memory, or better yet, catches onto Zero and by passes Ougi all together, I don't really for them as couple.
Suzaku, I don't necessarily hate him, I hate whats hes become. This dark, angsty, rawr, I sold my best friend out AND stole his sister, look at how bad ass I can look looking at a school. I don't really.
Sles Jeremiah shows up again, and NOT crazy, I don't care.

I love them! D: It might have been a little cuter when she didn't have her memory, but now it's gotten more interesting. I just wonder how it'll turn out.
Yeah- He's the emo kid now. D: And not a cool one.
I KNOW. ;________; Oraaaange-kuuuun.

They are interesting. I just don't care much until they're in front of one another. They are interesting, and I'm curious to see how it'll end for them, or if they'll get a happy ending.
Yeah, so not cool, Suzaku, so not cool. HE WAS FREAKING AMAZING FROM WHAT I'VE READ OF EP 05 THOUGH *_*
I have to admit I do like Orange-kun. I just hope he shows up with a greater purpose than "I'm going to run Zero through with a giant spike ball of doom [insert echo]." I would even be happy if he decided to join Zero (not likely, but I can dream).
And on another note, What the freak was I doing while typing the end of that!? O_o I know I was tired over the weekend, but usually I'm coherent enough to at least to catch my mistakes.

Although there's still hope for him, because he politely requested the army in episode 3 to stop their fighting before proceeding to kick their asses into next week.
It does seem like he gave up on Lelouch rather quickly, though...
I'm not a Suzaku-hater, but I don't necessarily love him, either. I just appreciate him as a good character, is all. So whatever happens, happens. That's my two yen. (^^)b
