I really wouldn't recommend the anime. It's very childish and not in a good way. The manga is much, much better, though the OVAs are pretty fabulous. But yeah... I'd really suggest steering clear of the anime.

DOSIHGIOSGH ME TOO. I have a hard time watching some series in Japanese because I like the dub that much more. Which sucks because some series I have to watch the sub in order to finish. *shakes fist at Geneon*

For me, I tend to prefer dubs of anime that take place out of Japan. Such as Chrono Crusade or Trinity Blood--they just seem to be more fitting.

Win, win, win, and win! Haibane Renmei is just about the prettiest overall anime experience I've had.

Haibane-Renmei had fantastic animation. I remember the scene where she gets her wings was gorgeous, despite being an overall grotesque sequence.
