So yes, I have a question about Rolo and since this question does contain somewhat of a spoiler - at least for those that haven't watched R2 yet, I'll put it behind a shiny lj-cut.

So anyhow, I read on Rolo's wiki profile that he obtained his geass from V.V. - correct this if this is wrong. So I want to know is does Rolo have any sort of relationship with V.V, I mean does he actually know that is was her that gave him the geass? The Kid was awfully young when he got the geass anyway. So yeah, some help would be nice.

I haven't a clue if that's true. The only thing that I know is that it isn't C.C. who gave Rolo his geass.

Also... I'm pretty sure V.V.'s a girl, not a boy.

100% shota.

Nope, V.V.'s a boy :)

ditto. V.V is a boy indeed. ( shota wins )

Yeah, I was UBER confused about V.V. being a girl/boy thing before, but definitely a boy because he uses 'Boku' which only guys should use.

And his voice sounds like a young boy.

I think Code Geass characters have a lot of gender issues!

Ep 6 gives something else to think about too which was why I was gonna say he was a boy, but I most apparently wrote my sentence the other way around. ;__;
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 12:41 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] lulu-quality.livejournal.com
Actually girls can use "boku" too. However, V.V. was confirmed to be a boy by FO (one of the official spoiler guys) and is voiced by an actual boy. That's how we know for a fact V.V. is a he.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 18:43 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] gatekeepers-21.livejournal.com
Yeah, I said 'should' for using Boku...

Well, there are a number of male characters that have been voiced by a girl. Like the Seiyuus Ayaka Saito and Paku Romi.

Souseiseki is a girl o_O?
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 18:52 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] spleener.livejournal.com
Well, yeah, but the point is that there are so many girls in anime who use 'boku' to address themselves that it's hardly something one should take as proof of gender.

And Souseiseki is a girl, yes, assuming you weren't being sarcastic with that.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 19:51 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] animenutcase.livejournal.com
You forgot Rika. She actually uses "boku" too.

Whoa, forgot that one!

Souseiseki is only a girl in the anime if I'm not mistaken x_x

Boku is actually a neutral term. Girls can use it too; it's less common, but not unheard of.

I don't have any ideas about your question (brain not working this late, argh), but I did want to point out that V.V. is a trapguy. ^^

*spoiler*

Before C.c. gets thrown into the tomatoes in episode 5 they kind of hint at Rollo's geass coming from V.v., I don't know if that has been confirmed elsewhere though.

I suggest you watch ep.6 to tell you more about V.v., if you haven't already.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 05:28 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] lulu-quality.livejournal.com
No, there's no evidence that Rolo's geass comes from V.V. Wikipedia also said that Marianne's maiden name is Lamperouge but that's not true either. What we do know is that the Emperor's geass comes from V.V. That's it. And that V.V. is a boy.

I believe Marianne's from the Ashford family. It was stated somewhere in Season 1, and that's why Millay knows that Lelouch is royalty.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 12:40 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] lulu-quality.livejournal.com
No that's not true either. That was never stated. What it was was that the Ashfords were associated with the Empress because their company built her KMF, Ganymede (they were essentially financially backed through Marianne). Once she died, everything fell apart for the Ashfords. What you're quoting is a mistranslation.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 05:29 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] fox-holland.livejournal.com
I don't believe it was confirmed anywhere.

However, Lelouch has remained from inspecting Rolo about his Geass personally and so far is just waiting for Rolo to tell him these things, such as the weakness of his Geass.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 05:43 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] fox-holland.livejournal.com
Also nowhere on Wikipedia, does it say Rolo obtained his geass from V.V.
Date/Time: 2008-05-12 05:37 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] rkylo.livejournal.com
I'm sure t was V.V. even if nothing has been confirmed yet
And OMG yes, I think V.V. is a boy...with pretty long hair

Charles calling V.V. brother more or less seals the deal on V.V. being a boy.

My thoughts exactly.

Rollo was seen at the end of that color game with V.V wasn't he? Where he kills you with whichever option you choose (I wonder where THAT protagonist got his geass from)

Date/Time: 2008-05-12 07:08 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] fox-holland.livejournal.com
Rai, the protagonist of Lost Colors, got it from V.V.

Also the Rolo with V.V. incident was just pre-R2 hype.

Actually most wiki information is ok, as long as it's not unsourced or utter crap.

Yes, most of Wikipedia is fine, but you shouldn't believe anything that doesn't give sauce. People are always putting random crap into it. So like I said, wiki =/= 100% tru fax.

Ditto on what others have already said; so far, there's no solid evidence that V.V. gave Rolo his geass.

It kind of makes me wonder if our double consonants (C.C. and V.V.) can be contracted to more than one person at a time. Yes, Mao still had C.C.'s geass gift, but she left because he failed the contract. V.V. is currently in a contract with Charles; we don't know since when. If they can only be in a contract with one person at a time, I find it unlikely that Rolo received geass from V.V. So, he's either a failed contract, or contracted to a third party. But, who knows -- if he didn't get it from V.V., of course, there's the question of where he *did* get it from ~_~

V.V is a boy, and the Emperor's elder brother...that's what Turn 06 told us...

V.V is a boy, and the Emperor's elder brother

Or close enough (remember, first ally) that Charles would call him 'brother'.

'cause really, if V.V. and Charles are brothers...I don't think Lelouch is the only rebel prince then. *grins*

Wikipedia likes to lie to people. Trust me. D: So far we don't know who Rolo got his Geass from, but V.V is a very possible suspect since we only have C.C and V.V so far... Unless another person like that shows up soon, one would assume..... yeah.
