Hay, can I get some color help?

Well, this is my first time posting here, hey dudes. I'm pretty sure this kind of question has never been asked before, haha.

Anyone into Asian ball-jointed dolls (BJD) should know where I'm coming from here. If that isn't your thing, well--

I need help deciding on a Lelouch eye color, care to help me out?

Mmkay, so, I'm trying to decide on what color eye would better suit his "normal" eye. I've got two nice ones but I'm having trouble deciding which one to really stick with.

I'm using this picture as my main reference.

I'm looking at these eyes:


97. Violet


901. Deep Purple

Deep Purple seems more "Lelouch" to me, but Violet looks better to the picture. But the pictures I've seen of Violet from other people looked a little lighter than that. I've never seen any other Deep Purple pictures.

So yeah, what do you guys think?

Also, if anyone could help me out with any word descriptors to describe what color his Geass eye is like, that'd help me out a lot. I'm really bad at them.

I think Deep Purple looks nicer. Kinda depends if you want your Lelouch to look sinister or cute, I think Deep Purple would display his rebel-ness better o:

You're making a Lulu BJD? Cool, what mold are you planning on using?

I would say the violet is closer to his color. Deep purple is darker then his eye color. However, I'd want to see IRL pics of the violet eyes. They seem the right color, but sometimes official pics are off. Usually I find violet eyes to have a more blue tone to them in real life. That would be inappropriate for Lelouch...he definitely does not have any blue tone to his eyes.

Yeah, I worried about that for a bit, but I believe they're both pretty purple. They're Mystic Eyes actually, and I could only find two IRL pics. (uploaded to my PB, the first (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/dyydata/oP1012092.jpg) and the second (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/dyydata/mysticviolet.jpg). No such luck, again, for Deep Purple.

mine have violet eyes (the sample-pictures mostly go in the wrong laine D: ) ..
it's more into the geass-color, so use deep purple, this should fit more.

I'm going to fall off the wagon here and go with the Violet. I think the Deep Purple has far too much blue undertone to match Lelouch.

As for the Geass!eye, magenta?

I think Deep Purple is much more suited for his eyecolour.

I'm going to say violet. With BJDs you often want to go a little lighter for eye color as it will photograph better. I'm also pretty sure depending on image you pick Lelouch's eyes are more of a red violet color like the violet.

I have a Chibi Lulu BJD. (As well as Chibi Suzaku, Gino, and I'm working on a Schniezel, though Gino is being a pain about wigs.) None of them have their outfits yet, but they will eventually. :D

Hrm yeah. The only eyes I really have experience with are silicone ones, and the dark ones aren't so bad to pick up lighting-- I just wish I knew what the Deep Purple ones really looked like.

I generally prefer glass and urethane and I can tell you with those you generally want to go a little brighter. ^^ I found this out when I tried ED #44 for Suzaku. The color looks right in the pictures but the actual color was waaaaaay too dark.

But...

Is I think a pretty good picture of Lelouch's eyes and they definitely have a more red-violet tone to them like the violet vs the dark violet which have too much blue IMHO

I'm currently using some gorgeous DropRops, but for a while I was using a Hitomiya and a fanmade eye:

I think violet is the most faithful to his eye colour, but deep purple is the prettiest :p

Hmm~ I only have two boys but from my experience when you put the eyes in, they appear darker because they're set back from the rest of the skin and are in the shade a bit. So the deep purple will probably appear even darker, whereas the violet will look the right colour I think. :D

I want to see doll pictures when you have him~!! :D
