The New Opening

I noticed a certain screen in the new opening after rewatching the OP for the zillionth time. Also, more screenshots of the OP beneath the cut! Spoilers for OP2




Is that (from left to right), Marianne, Charles, and V.V. on the cliff? That's the same cliff C.C. in traditional garb was standing on in ED2 of R1. Does it overlook the Palace of Aeries? It also appeared in C.C.'s flashback in episode 11 of R1.

Also what was with Toudou taking on the giant glowing tower of DOOM? Schneizel the panda getting progressively more menacing as the OP wore on? Or the "LOST" screen after the picture of the world? I hope we get an apocalypse :D Discuss the new OP sequence!

I didn't screencap these (apart from the first one of the trio), actually. I got them from 2ch. However, I do know how to screencap HQ with VLC player. If you have that program, when you pause the video, you can right-click and chose a snapshot option.

For some reason, I have a feeling that Kallen is forced to work with the other side? and the matching new machines for Kallen and Suzaku makes me feel as though they are going to work together? I don't know. D:

Yeah the matching wings are quite weird. But it could be something like "GUREN IS THE ANTITHESIS OF LANCELOT" or something.

The sequences where it goes Gino-->Kallen-->Anya-->Nina has me worried a bit, but she's always shown in her Black Knight/Black Knight piloting uniform, so I think, or hope she'll stay on the Black Knights side.

CLAMP have free reign to draw whatever they want, regardless of what's going to happen. They didn't even know about Clovis' impending death and he died in episode 3 -_-;;; Mokona of CLAMP, whose favorite character was Clovis, was completely heartbroken at the event XD

Now that the threadstarter mentioned it, the three figures do strongly resemble Marianne, Charles and V.V.; I'm pretty sure those are them. The more I see those three, the more I am intrigued; I do hope the mysteries are cleared up soon.

Season 3 would give me an additional Code Geass fix, but then, I don't know what the writers could explore with an additional season. :)

Suzaku isn't in the new OP much, it has me rather worried actually. ^^;; He gets that quick flash by with the funky colors and a few scenes of Lancelot and that is it. and technically someone else could be piloting Lancelot I so hope this doesn't mean he is soon going to be jumping into the death pool.

Love the Opening actually. I was surprised to see Marianne there and she's with the Emperor. Now that got me thinking so much. I have a lot of what ifs in my head.

Anya is smiling and Gino is looking angsty. Something is definitely not right.

I like this new opening! But, for some reason, with everyone zooming by and nostalgic 'we may be ending soon, but we'll still be together' kind of music really makes me feel 'wow, we're half-way through R2'. It makes me kind of sad ;A;

The animation was great for the opening-I give them props for stuffing nearly EVERYONE in there. There were so many things I'm looking forward to now because of it, like the odd 'Sword in the Stone' and the Akatsuki flying up to fight the TOWER OF DOOM. I say it's from the Geass Cult. Trying to bring about Ragnorok or something.

And, alskjdf;askdjf, C.C. looks so pretty in both the OP and the ED. The scene with her back to the moon was gorgeous and the first cap in the ED...is totally gonna be my new wallpaper >3

I wanted to do a post on the Three People on the Cliff too but I just knew someone would post it first. Marianne being in on the whole thing is crazy but not outside the realm of possibilities in anime, for sure. Did anyone also notice the scene before that, the masklike thing overlaying after the geass in Lelouch's eye start to 'flap', before the image changes to Zero mask? It looks like Ichigo's Hollow mask in Bleach.

And Gino's darker side might be revealed.
