There were two, but each season was twice as long as one season of Geass.

Gundam Seed: 52 episodes
Gundam Seed Destiny: 52 episodes + a whole bunch of other Special Edition episodes
Code Geass: 26 + some recap episodes
R2: 26 as well probably

SO MAYBE WE'LL HAVE CODE GEASS SEASON 4 COMING? LOL

I am proud of Geass R2 for not have any recap episodes yet.
