Apparently, Code Geass is ending this OCTOBER. D: Like, FOREVER. If you have any information regarding about the series ending soon, please comment.

Okay so according to these comments, it's confirmed that it will end. & I'm sorry for this post I didn't realise there was a similar post here

" Progress report by the story originator and main writer, Ichiro Okouchi.
I've finished the script for Code Geass! Finished! It's not "to be continued", nor "end of this season". It's over, finished, the end. "

" S1 and R2 originally being one whole season(50 episodes), but they didn't get the slot they wanted(Sat6 - taken over by Ayakashi), and only managed to get a 25ep slot, so they had to divide it up into two seasons. So most people who knew about this expected R2 to be the end of the series. "

Now that explains quite a lot.

I did read about this somewhere. I just can`t recall where. D:

It`ll be replaced by the 2nd season of Gundam 00

true.

but that doesn't mean they can't make something new in several years...like movie, OVA..etc.

They should totally make a movie. I would explode.

Well, Oukouchi did mention that he finished the script for the last episode and that Code Geass ends with this season. So October is about the right date.

I've heard about it. But well, that's better than a badly made season 3 I guess ^^;

but there's still hope for an OVA or movie ya know xD Hehe. It's so damn popular after all =3

well being a G00 fan as well, and knowing that when CG ends, it begins, I've been quite aware of the October date.

That and also one mentioned that this season was the last, but at the beginning I knew it would only be 2 seasons, like they said it would.

Super excited about G00 second 2.... but that's off topic....

You may want to post source info, because otherwise it's just a big rumor. I can't see Sunrise just ending it because it's one of the biggest anime in Japan for the past two years.

It was mentioned here (http://community.livejournal.com/code_geass/760604.html) before, and indeed it is a little unbelieveable and incredibly sad. I'm super duper excited for G00 S2, but at the same time I'll miss Code Geass intensely once it's officially over D: (And I'll die quite a bit inside if Lelouch or any other awesome character dies, which is pretty much guaranteed, imo)

^^; I really don't understand all the fuss. The end of the series has been confirmed previously -- I think on this comm even.

Besides that, most anime series don't go beyond 50 episodes. Sure, there's Bleach, Naruto, and their ilk, but Code Geass isn't a long-running shounen manga with oodles of chapters to animate. TBH, I'm glad it's only going to have two seasons -- I'd hate for Sunrise to stretch things out just to milk a popular product.

Sorry if I sound cranky, I'm still tired ^^;;

I agree with all of that.

Plus.. come on.. Gundam 00 season 2 is going to be awesome.

I'd love to have Geass to have a Geass OVA.

Back stories of CC, VV, young Marianne and Charles, s'il vous plait

Geass was originally only one season long.

It was initially announced when it got the second season that it was all it was getting. I'm extremely confused why people are so shocked about this?

Even ridiculously popular shows like FMA and Death Note were only two seasons max. This isn't that weird?

Shows like Inuyasha and Bleach and Naruto that go forever are actually the exceptions to the rule; despite popularity levels, more serious shows tend to go a shorter duration.

Besides, Sunrise isn't known for having super long-running shows. Period. Revisiting the same universe? Yes. So we might see a movie, perhaps.

Yeah it's no different from watching a Gundam series (o-shi) because everything is like max two seasons, unless it's one of those god awful endless anime that's just riddled with sucky fillers until it's cancelled.

It's better to end it with two then it go on and go down hill. It's been a long hell of a ride for all of us. It's not over yet, so hang in there and enjoy it. I know this has become one of the animes I really love and will watch a lot of when I own all of it. Like Wolf's Rain is one I hold dear to me.

Better than a 100+ episode POS that ends up eating your soul and remaining IQ points, then ends with a filler episode. Short and sweet is best for us all.

Looks like its official. And I think Sunrise has already exhausted all their plot twists that they can't twist it any longer.

Anyways, this is for the best and I'll miss Code Geass dearly for sure.

we'll miss it but I suppose it's inevitable. Turn 15 was like WHAT I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS TO HAPPEN UNTIL PRACTICALLY THE END OF THE SERIES. this makes sense now, thanks for the info. :)

it's SUNRISE. They're famous for milk their products till they can't get more money of them. And then, they made a re-edition. Or a paralell history, or whatever...
I can expect whatever from them (even when i'm still waiting the Gundam Seed movie that was going to be ready last year ¬¬)

...WHAT?
Apparently lots of people knew about this ;A;

I think it's sad but...
I kind of think there'll be OVAs and a movie or something.

Aren't they going to make code geass other series? Like from Suzaku's point of view? Or Nunally's? I kind of expected them to do that (since they have those manga's). I'll watch it even if I kind of dislike Suzaku?!

There must be SOMETHING that follows.
I don't expect Sunrise to just stop such a succesful anime?
Well...we'll see what they do.

ANYWAYS, I'll still miss it. Loads. *sniff*

Maybe they'll pull a Kyo Kara Maoh. Screen two seasons, leave it for like two years, and then pull out a mass of OVAs and a third season out of nowhere.
