Apparently, Code Geass is ending this OCTOBER. D: Like, FOREVER. If you have any information regarding about the series ending soon, please comment.
Okay so according to these comments, it's confirmed that it will end. & I'm sorry for this post I didn't realise there was a similar post here
" Progress report by the story originator and main writer, Ichiro Okouchi.
I've finished the script for Code Geass! Finished! It's not "to be continued", nor "end of this season". It's over, finished, the end. "

" S1 and R2 originally being one whole season(50 episodes), but they didn't get the slot they wanted(Sat6 - taken over by Ayakashi), and only managed to get a 25ep slot, so they had to divide it up into two seasons. So most people who knew about this expected R2 to be the end of the series. "

Now that explains quite a lot.

Elsewhere, either Taniguchi or Okouchi has confirmed that Code Geass will end this season. 50 episodes total. Done.
As a sidenote,

But OVAs are completely awesome too

And then in one of the anime magazines this month or last month, Oukouchi announced that he finished the script for the last episode and that Code Geass is over.

Besides that, most anime series don't go beyond 50 episodes. Sure, there's Bleach, Naruto, and their ilk, but Code Geass isn't a long-running shounen manga with oodles of chapters to animate. TBH, I'm glad it's only going to have two seasons -- I'd hate for Sunrise to stretch things out just to milk a popular product.
Sorry if I sound cranky, I'm still tired ^^;;(no subject)
Plus.. come on.. Gundam 00 season 2 is going to be awesome.

I should probably update that icon with some more recent crack.

But yeah, I totally wouldn't mind some stuff that went into back- or side-stories. And I'll say this once again... Code Geass: Fumoffu would also be wholly tolerated--nay! Encouraged.

But I know I read it somewhere.

It was initially announced when it got the second season that it was all it was getting. I'm extremely confused why people are so shocked about this?
Even ridiculously popular shows like FMA and Death Note were only two seasons max. This isn't that weird?
Shows like Inuyasha and Bleach and Naruto that go forever are actually the exceptions to the rule; despite popularity levels, more serious shows tend to go a shorter duration.
Besides, Sunrise isn't known for having super long-running shows. Period. Revisiting the same universe? Yes. So we might see a movie, perhaps.
