Apparently, Code Geass is ending this OCTOBER. D: Like, FOREVER. If you have any information regarding about the series ending soon, please comment.

Okay so according to these comments, it's confirmed that it will end. & I'm sorry for this post I didn't realise there was a similar post here

" Progress report by the story originator and main writer, Ichiro Okouchi.
I've finished the script for Code Geass! Finished! It's not "to be continued", nor "end of this season". It's over, finished, the end. "

" S1 and R2 originally being one whole season(50 episodes), but they didn't get the slot they wanted(Sat6 - taken over by Ayakashi), and only managed to get a 25ep slot, so they had to divide it up into two seasons. So most people who knew about this expected R2 to be the end of the series. "

Now that explains quite a lot.

I watched Gundam ahead of Geass. So sometimes I accidentally call the 'Gundams' 'kinghtmares'. x'D But I`m used to it now~

You should try watching Gundam 8D It`s more serious then Geass though x'D

Elsewhere, either Taniguchi or Okouchi has confirmed that Code Geass will end this season. 50 episodes total. Done.

As a sidenote, [livejournal.com profile] koshimizu is a highly reputable source who probably does most of the translation of magazine/interview/blog scans and spoilers for this fandom.

if they don't make a movie I'd be surprised. Don't 90% of all anime longer than 13 episodes get a movie? lol < /sarcasm >

But OVAs are completely awesome too

No, Sunrise made Idolmaster Xenoglossia, which was surprisingly fantastic. :P

Ah, I see. I had thought that it was only a game, oops!

Well, there used to be a few spoiler guys during S1 that actually gave out accurate spoilers, and one of them mentioned something about S1 and R2 originally being one whole season(50 episodes), but they didn't get the slot they wanted(Sat6 - taken over by Ayakashi), and only managed to get a 25ep slot, so they had to divide it up into two seasons. So most people who knew about this expected R2 to be the end of the series.

And then in one of the anime magazines this month or last month, Oukouchi announced that he finished the script for the last episode and that Code Geass is over.

^^; I really don't understand all the fuss. The end of the series has been confirmed previously -- I think on this comm even.

Besides that, most anime series don't go beyond 50 episodes. Sure, there's Bleach, Naruto, and their ilk, but Code Geass isn't a long-running shounen manga with oodles of chapters to animate. TBH, I'm glad it's only going to have two seasons -- I'd hate for Sunrise to stretch things out just to milk a popular product.

Sorry if I sound cranky, I'm still tired ^^;;

I agree with all of that.

Plus.. come on.. Gundam 00 season 2 is going to be awesome.

From what I hear, Sunrise really, really tried to, but Taniguchi and Okouchi were all like "LOL NO", and in the end, Sunrise couldn't do anything about it. (Good.)

The main plot is done as of this season. Finished. Concluded.

But yeah, I totally wouldn't mind some stuff that went into back- or side-stories. And I'll say this once again... Code Geass: Fumoffu would also be wholly tolerated--nay! Encouraged.

This is Sunrise we're talking about. Geass will never truly end. At least...not in our hearts. *mushmushmush*

Time wise, might have been mentioned on the G00 community, or something.
But I know I read it somewhere.

I'd love to have Geass to have a Geass OVA.

Back stories of CC, VV, young Marianne and Charles, s'il vous plait

Geass was originally only one season long.

It was initially announced when it got the second season that it was all it was getting. I'm extremely confused why people are so shocked about this?

Even ridiculously popular shows like FMA and Death Note were only two seasons max. This isn't that weird?

Shows like Inuyasha and Bleach and Naruto that go forever are actually the exceptions to the rule; despite popularity levels, more serious shows tend to go a shorter duration.

Besides, Sunrise isn't known for having super long-running shows. Period. Revisiting the same universe? Yes. So we might see a movie, perhaps.

Yeah it's no different from watching a Gundam series (o-shi) because everything is like max two seasons, unless it's one of those god awful endless anime that's just riddled with sucky fillers until it's cancelled.
