(I hope I tagged it right?)

So, question number one..
Could someone explain to me how to download anime..
Umm, more like "downloading anime for dummies" or something because I don't know a thing about it.
I've only downloaded one episode of something and it was a .wmv and that's like the only video player I have.
But I think most anime is .avi?
-sorry if this is irrelevant for this community since it isn't CG related..-
(Anyway if anyone knows where to download .wmv anime that would be helping even more~)

Question number two...
Does anyone have pictures of the Code Geass R2 goodies that came with the Newtype of August 2008?
(I'm thinking of purchasing it but I really want to see those goodies first if that's possible)

Thanks a bunch,
I'm so sorry for always asking things, I know I should contribute more haha.

.avi files should play in pretty much any media player, so that shouldn't be an issue for you, I don't think. Have you tried to play them? Did it not work? .mkv files are the only one I've really ever had trouble with, just because my old computer couldn't really handle them.

Check my post here for scans of Newtype 08/08 (includes extra goods). I do recommend purchasing it though. It's a lot prettier in real life!

I think for avi files you need divX. I believe the newest one was version 9?

for mkv you need like this other player... google CCCP and just install that.

for most of the new code geass episodes, it's fastest to download through bittorrent. there's many types of programs you can use to leech lol, I think azureus was the best right?

"Leeching" is just an internet term for downloading ^^

...if you're running a Mac or Linux box. If you have a PC, try out utorrent. It uses far fewer resources than Azureus. (Nothing against Azureus, actually; I'm just a RAM hog.)

a friend told me there was a feature where you can download faster X'D but I don't have it so I don't know anything about it.

Utorrent is indeed worlds better than Azureus. I switched to it from Azureus back when the latter was good. I can't believe the junk they've loaded it with now.

K-lite is a great codec pack. www.codecguide.com Baka-updates or Tokyotosho are good sources.

Avi files are merely containers. Divx is a codec. You can use Divx (not recommended, Xvid, or FFDShow to play it back..

There are many types of video files like .wmv, .avi, .mkv, .rmvb, .divx etc.. Some of them may require codecs in order for the video players to play the video. Download and install CCCP at your computer. It should be able to help you play the videos, regardless which one you download.

By the way, I don't think you'll find any .wmv versions floating around very easily ;)

Why don't you try it out and see whether it works?

Grab a copy of Media Player Classic. It plays everything and the kitchen sink once you install the codecs. It's basically a no-frills version of Media Player without the added bloating.

I second this. It never fails me. :)

First, download azureus or bittorrent, both are good torrent progs.

Second, download either Media Player Classic, or VLC Media Player. I never had tremendous luck with CCCP, these work fine for me.

Third, find a site that carries the downloads; check past entries here, or a basic torrent search site like animesuki.com (doesn't have Geass) or isohunt.com (does carry Geass).

Hope this helps.

If you want a great media player, google GOM player; it'll play any file type.
