Also, to clear things up. Before, I used to think, an "Initial" could only die if killed by the person they gave a Geass to. Or, that a Geass user could only gain immortality through the person they got Geass from.
But by CC's nun explanation. It's really just by a Geass user's level. They just have to be at a certain level (what I assume, both eyes) before they can take anyones' Initial immortality(I think it has to be freely given though).
So, say, Lelouch could still gain immortality if he so wishes, if not by CC, then by another Initial. And CC, could die, as she wished, by Charles. (I believe she wished to spare Lelouch the agony of forever, that, and his Geass isn't mastered yet.) Charles had that power, because one— Oh wait, mm.. Charles was already immortal .. so .. I guess an Initial could take another Initial's life then. Well. That's not so complicated.
Though, this is CG we're talking about. I'm sure it's much more complicated than that.
