Yurshhh ;D

Ohoho yes~ I've been stealing collecting for 3 and a half years~~

No, sorry D: (I'd listen to it right now, but for some reason YouTube is simply not cooperating with me! I've been trying to watch these (http://nightcoffeebean.livejournal.com/20967.html) Gundam 00 videos for the last couple hours but no cigar D':

Nice icon btw ;D

I hope we'll get to see more fanworks of that pairing! |D

Ooh, I see. For me there's always the money and the language issue. I'd rather have the original tankobon, but I wouldn't understand them. lol

I hate it when YouTube decides to be a bitch D<

Nice icon there yourself ;D

I wish I knew Japanese just so I could search Japanese fansites for them XD

Yeah, if I love a series enough, I'd totally be willing to buy both American published volume and tankoban (even if I don't understand - preparation for when I do learn! :P), but none of my local bookstores sell tankoban ='O

When I read my manga, somewhere in the back of my mind, I'm always wondering how accurate the translation is XD

YouTube's always been a bitch...it needs a pimp to slap it around a little :D Was that harsh? I'm kidding of course, but I just feel like being mean to YouTube right now XD

Why thank ya ;D

Since their names are written in katakana, it shouldn't be too hard, lol. I can't type/display kanji on my laptop though, but I guess you can just copy&paste from Wikipedia >>;

If I ever had enough money for tankobon, I'd buy them online. Shipping costs might be high, but since Japanese volumes cost about half as much as American ones, it's bearable. Local bookstores don't even sell American issues, so I have to buy them through amazon anyway.

So do I! Usually I understand scanlations better. And I hate Viz D<

it needs a pimp to slap it around a little :D Was that harsh?
lol, not harsh, but funny. xD *easily amused*

Friends? :D

Reminds me of how I was using Manga-Updates to find Nico Nico videos XD

There are only two bookstores where I live and one of them is tiny (the rest are at least a 3-minute drive away). The other is a Waldenbooks, but the manga section is too small for me D: I still appreciate that they carry manga at all though<333 In a very rough estimate, they've made a couple thousand bucks off me XD

If I lived alone, I would definitely be tempted to buy off Amazon. But as it is, I must wait D':

It's pretty sad that scanlations are sometimes better than the published volumes. I sorta like Viz. I haven't heard much about the accuracy of their translations, but they seem fine to me (not that I would really know). The censorship, lack of honorifics, and flopped manga (from a while back) sometimes get to me, but they've licensed a lot of great series. And I find myself really enjoying their anthologies. I used be all over Shonen Jump, but more recently I've subscribed to Shojo Beat ^_^;; (but for the past two months it's come late!)

I actually have more of a thing against Tokyopop ^_^;; They have some of the best licenses out there, but the translations seem kinda off or just plain inconsistent sometimes. I think they've been getting better though<3

*also easily amused* ;D

Yes, of course~ ^o^

Heh, the only bookstores carrying manga are a 15-minute train ride away from where I live. Since I'm too lazy busy to drive there every time a new manga comes out I buy them off amazon. It's cheaper too |D And my mom doesn't mind since I pay for everything from my own bank account xD

Yup, it's really sad. I mean a translator's or editor's note at the side of a page is not too confusing for the reader. I have a couple of Viz publications I quite like. Zombie Powder and Bleach; but I've heard about the omgwtfbbq censorship and wrong choice of language in mangas like Naruto or Prince of Tennis. Or I've found some whacky translations in Ouran.

Well, we don't get Shounen Jump anthologies here. Or anything other than weird German ones and I can't stand those translations, they make me itch.

I just noticed the only TokyoPop stuff I have are four Trinity Blood novels. And I don't like the translation. It's boring, has no flavor and makes me wonder whether the original Japanese sounds as lame. I mean, I love that series, but the translation is killing my enjoyment. But I'm putting up with it, because who else would translate the novels? xD

Yay!
