Episode 14 Summary Out

シャーリーに秘密を知られたのではないかと疑い、彼女の後を追うルルーシュ。どう始末をつけるのかC.C.に問われるが、答えは持たなかった。その頃、シャーリーはナリタでマオという謎の男と出会う。マオは人の思考を読むギアス能力者だった。彼に操られるまま、ある罪を償うため死を選ぼうとするシャーリー。C.C.は、かつて自分がギアスの能力を与えた男と対峙し、ルルーシュは真相を知ってしまったシャーリーとの別れを決断する。

Suspicious about whether Shirley got to know (his) secret, Lelouch follows her back. Although (he) asks CC to reveal what happened (about the aftermath of the ep 13. battle), she doesn't have the answer. Around this time, Shirley encounters enigmatic Mao in Narita. Mao is a man capable of reading thoughts with the power of his Geass. Shirley chooses death in order to compensate for a certain crime; Mao actually is pulling the strings. C.C confronts the man she once gave the power of Geass to, and Lelouch decides on separation with Shirley, who knows the truth.

Ha ha, no; I think what it means is that under Mao's influence, she chooses that for Lelouch as recompense for the crime of indirectly murdering her Father. That's what I think it actually means. These summaries are always written rather strangely, they're a bit ... scatty. But she might still die anyway. Who knows. I wouldn't put it past Lelouch to interpret 'seperation' as 'kill her now'...XD

Agreed! I wonder how Lulu will deal with him. Poor Lulu; he has to worry about Shirley, Lancelot, Cornelia, and now Mao. He must be stressed out! XD

Ugh I do not have high expectations for Mao. Unless he manages to get all up and Lelouch's base, and then I'll love him forever, as I do with everyone else. Other than that, happy to see more of C.C.'s storyline but would prefer it delivered in a less cliched package.

He could always surprise me. Cornelia surprised me muchly since I wasn't expecting to like her. But like I said, I fall for anyone who either kicks Lelouch's ass or tops him hard. It's like a litmus test for me.

If they kill off my second favorite character, and Lelouch is okay with it... um, I've misjudged the guy. I'll come back to throw in a real post when I've seen ep.14 and none of this is a spoiler.

Um? Shirley might die. Lelouch might even kill her. But that's not what the spoiler says. I believe that when it says Shirley chooses death, it means she chooses it for the perpetrator of the crime, under Mao's influence.

(I stand by you in your concern though; I was sick for a week worrying about Jeremiah kun!)

I think so. The summary doesn't make it very clear. But it's amusing to me as I am guessing this is just another case of Lelouch the pawn - this time in a (possibly long running) game between Mao and CC; Mao clearly didn't grant her wish, huh. >;)

Interesting....I look forward to this episode! Yeah, I have to admit that though I usually hate Shirley I was actually feeling quite sorry for her in episode 13. I still don't like characters like her in general, but I no longer have that loathing feeling for her that I did have before. I still hate Nina though...ahahaha.

I do wonder whether she will die. But then again Lulu could use Geass on her to make her forget. Maybe even "suggest" for her to return to Britannia. I would think he would try something like that first before killing her. He's not a complete cold-hearted bastard afterall, he does care for nunnally and his friends. But then again he's getting worse with each passing episode. I also can't wait for Lulu's complete smackdown...when everything comes crashing down for him. It'll be really interesting. The only thing I fear is that Suzaku will go through the whole anime completely unscathed. I think I'll be really upset if that happens because I think Suzaku is in just as much in need of a total smackdown and reality check as Lulu. Actually, I think probably more so but that might be my bias kicking in (Suzaku has been annoying me with each passing episode).

I don't know that Lelouch may be able to make her forget with Geass. He can make people perform *actions* and they're effectively under hypnosis as they don't remember it afterwards, but I am not sure that memories they already have can be altered. (Mao might possibly be able to do that - though I think he can only read thoughts) And I don't know that since Lelouch's actions got her Dad killed, he can rely on Shirley's good will to keep quite about the secret anymore....but we'll have to wait and see what he does. :)

I adore Suzaku because I can't see why he annoys people so much!!! But he apprarently does, and it's hilarious! I guess it's because Suzaku hasn't quite squared what he does with what he says yet; but that's OK. Few people do. XD People love to forgive Lelouch his 20 billion faults but Suzaku is not allowed to have any...lol!

But in episode 6 he was able to make those girls forget they saw the Zero mask. So he can definitely make people forget...question is how much can he make them forget? A whole day's worth of stuff? Only a few minutes? I do get the feeling it might not be so easy as just him doing geass on her, but we'll see...

See my main problem with Suzaku is that he has the nerve to go off spouting stuff about Zero when his side is just as bad as Zero. Actually his side is worse, though the way Lulu is going maybe his side will catch up eventually. He just seems really overly self-righteous and it gets worse with each episode. It's really annoying.

Plus I think his whole "change Britannia from the inside" plan is ridiculous. I don't see it happening. Not with that family in charge. Unless they're all assassinated (except Euphie of course). But maybe that's just me. I dislike Britannia so I really want to see it fall in the end. I also want to see Japan restored in the end, not as a colony of Britannia, but as Japan. Suzaku's goal seems to be to make Area 11 just one big happy colony. To make it so Elevens aren't treated quite so bad. To me that's really not enough. That's letting Britannia get off easy. I also can't help but feel he is betraying his country. Actually after episode 11, one wonders whether he really DID betray his country. Though that actually makes his character a bit more fascinating....wonder what he did.

So basically for me it's NOT just his hypocrisy but his very goal that I really disagree with. But he's also the type of character that I think I would easily forgive for being so annoying if he would only wake up. I'll be really disappointed with the show if they keep him the same. It's more interesting to see a character really develop then just stay the same the whole season. Ah, this ended up being a very LONG Suzaku rant! ^_^;;;;

Oh and one thing and this has nothing to do with the current conversation but, people PLEASE stop comparing Suzaku with Kira Yamato! They're NOTHING alike. The most they have in common is that they both pilot really powerful mechs and they both don't like to kill (though Kira will kill if he has to, he'll try to avoid it when possible though). Kira doesn't go around being self-righteous...hell, he'll even admit that he's not sure what he is doing is the right thing. Eh, sorry...I just keep seeing this comparison and it's driving me crazy. Even the fansubbers do it! I happen to like Kira alot actually so it's kind of irksome.

.....Yes! It is from a booklet in Animedia called Paromedia, which has short funny manga in it by different artists. There is a also a poster of Shirley CC and Miss Fanservice in (you guessed it!) swimsuits. What else. *sigh* (Where's my poster of Jeremiah in his swimming shorts? >:O)

Yes, the scan came from the cover of a booklet that came with Animedia of short comic manga strips by several artists! It is called Paromedia. The Code G section is quite big. And that's pouty chbi Lelouch on the cover.

I am leaning towards a situation with my thinking on Lelouch where it really doesn't strike me that he's the sort of guy who would be interested in *that* sort of relationship at all because he's too blinkered and focused on his plots.
