At the end of the episode, we see that Lelouch has apparently buried Rolo. Okay.
Let's think back to season 1, back to when Lelouch was on that island with Euphie. He couldn't even dig a hole.
He could've used the knightmare, sure. But he would've had to drag Rolo out of it first, and I can't see him managing that.

But you know, I'm not shocked by anything anymore - I mean, after this? WAI HALLO THAR, SIXPACK. Even though he can't run for three seconds. WTF D:
