Hmm... I'm not sure whether anyone else has ever seen the BBC series Spooks Code 9 but the 3rd episode which has just aired recently shared quite a few similarities with our beloved series.
You can check it out on here while it's still being shown this week. For anyone who can't be bothered to sit through the episode:-
- MI5 are being troubled by a mysterious criminal mastermind who goes by the name of Zero, who nobody knows the identity of. He's organising a gang loyal to him, who are look out for the population living in a resettlement housing compound. Even the police are wary of entering and want military involvement to sort the problem out.
- An old friend of Zero turns up who is actually working for the other side, MI5, who are trying to identify and neutralise Zero but the old friend is also trying to look out for Zero's alter ego without realising his real identity.
- This Zero is also meant to be a bit of a genius and a mastermind.
It makes me think that the scriptwriters might just be fans of Code Geass as well. Then again, the fact that they called him Zero was enough to make me think that they were fans.

But there are plenty of Zeros around in anime/sci-fi whatever...I wouldn't hold that out for anyone being a fan of Geass yet...
Unless that Zero knows some super power that makes ppl follow his every command I'd say this is a coincidence. XDXD
