Rolo's Locket

After watching Turn 19, I was inspired to have Rolo's locket dangling from my cellphone.

The locket was taken from the Rolo figurine of the PPP R2 Vol.1 series. Alas, it's not an 1:1 scale replica but closer to 1:1.47. A chain with spring ring clasps on both ends is impossible to find in stores, so I got together with a friend and did some metalworking to make the said chain. We made the chain to 1:1.47 scale according to the original production sketch (provided by koshimizu  here), so the chain is actually 5cm long instead of the original 7.35cm. We also couldn't figure out how anyone would be able to stretch the chain into necklace length, so we just made an extra long 46cm chain.



Now if I can ever get around to cosplaying Rolo someday... (Then again, he's 5'7" and I'm only 5'1", so I shouldn't push it >_<)

I really want to make my own, except trying to convert a regular heart-shaped locket (which I have yet to buy *sweatdrop*) to look like that seems pretty hard. Any tips?

Hmm, I'd recommend looking at that production sketch I linked to in my topic post for reference and all of the details and specs (i.e. dimensions). I have no experience in actually modifying an existing locket into this, so I'm afraid that I can't help you on that part. ^^;;

The locket measures approximately 1.7cm wide and 1.7cm tall. The chain, without the spring ring clasps, is 5cm long. In total the replica is 1/1.47th of original size.

I got the Rolo figurine from the PPP series. They're randomly packaged and Rolo is one type you can get out of nine. I got lucky when I picked out four random boxes from an Animate store and the final one I picked had Rolo. You can either try your luck by getting single boxes, buy the entire boxset, or search around on auction sites, where I've seen Rolo go for $15-$25. Retail price of one originally is about $4.50. The locket is the accessory that comes with the PPP mini-figurine.

No, you should definitely cosplay Rolo one day even though you are shorter then he is. Just get special shoes that make you slightly taller and stand next to absurdly short people at all times ;]
