i guess you haven't watched neon genesis evangelion? cause charles's plan basically = gendo's instrumentality plan. D: but at least it didn't end the same way.

I saw Eva many, many years ago and I don't actually remember it... only that it was terribly confusing when I saw it (I was young) and I didn't really get it at all.

At some point I suppose I should watch it again...

Code Geass = Evangelion for the new generation. There are a lot of interesting parallels between the two shows.
