I'm looking for some helpful advice on making a pattern for the Knight of Round cape. I know I'm taking a big risk by asking this here in the main community, but I do not want to screw up my fabric. Normally, I don't care too much, but the material I'm using for Nomette's cape was really expensive. Also, what did you guys use for the material of your cape? I'm rather curious. Thanks in advance for your help~!

Whenever I'm having trouble, I usually make mock ups using cheaper fabric. I know a lot of people use cotton and gold material. I don't know why so much gold gets used though, as very little art suggests that the crests are shiny.

There's a Geass thread on cosplay.com that might help.

I still need to get started. Back when I planned a Zero, no one had even attempted the mask. I've got a lot to live up to.

I'd just look for a basic cape pattern and go from there. If you're worried about ruining your fabric, make a mock-up out of some cheap muslin first. Good luck. :)

Are you talking about the overall shape, or the embroidery on the fabric? Most costume/fabric stores probably have a cape pattern you could buy, and modify if you need to. As for the embroidery, that could be tricky but try mapping it out digitally to make sure you don't get the measurements wrong before you set it to scale on your pattern.
