Ugh... As horrible as this sounds, I was kind hoping Nunnally was actually dead and would be staying dead. Not because I hate her or anything, but because, like... It was such a good plot twist that to just back peddle and be like "LOL JUST KIDDING SHE'S ALIVE" is so lame. Plus I feel it made the story more interesting. At least, I thought it did.

Sigh. Sunrise, stop destroying your own plot twists. I mean really.

That sister complex can only be stretched so far and eventually it pangs into everyone's mind as utterly ridiculous. Her death separates Lelouch from that insane sister complex. Although it momentarily caused Lelouch to lose all hope, it causes Lelouch to find a more realistic means of a drive. Rather than focusing on his sister constantly, he has to deal with the world presented before him.

Another reason we might prefer Nunnally dead is because any chance of her returning in the first place is a means of exploitation. The huge flaw of Lelouch's character being picked again and again which Mao, V.V., Charles, and Suzaku have exploited. It's toward our discomfort because if we want to see Lelouch being beaten with everything he has and at his own game, such as with Xingke, and with Schneizel being a vastly brilliant opponent all we want is a fair match. We don't want to see Lelouch prove he is a brother, it's a too childish at this point in the series. We want to see if he is a true king.

No kidding. But I gave up hope a long time ago that Lelouch would actually SURVIVE until the end to series, so...

Don't taunt Sunrise. We might get a Zeta end after all. ._.

For the most part I am inclined to agree- it is cheap. But it may also provide Lelouch with an interesting development. He said he had to get passed things and he even began to admit he was doing everything for everyone he cared about, not just Nunally. Now for the sake of those other things he has to turn against her.

It has potential. But it's still amazingly cheap.

Well said. I can totally agree with that. I think it'll definitely be interesting and test Lelouch to the very end, but at the same time it's... annoying. And tiresome. And actually not that surprising anymore. I mean, c'mon. Does Sunrise think this is shocking after everything else that's happened? XD

I'm interested in seeing how Nunnally would be manipulated to turn against Lelouch, though? ... Ooooh, maybe she finds out he's actually Zero.

Of course it's not surprising. I think Geass has officially given up on surprise at this point. They're taking the obvious route- everyone is against Lelouch and he has to push past it. It's not as interesting as say, Schneizel and Lelouch teaming up against the Black Knights or The Black Knights re accepting Zero- but we can at least assume it's a 'safe' approach.

Even if she did...would she really hate him? I don't know..it's very weird.

Touché.

Yeah, I can't see Nunnally ever... hating Lelouch. Or hating anyone for that matter. Even if he's reveled to be Zero and having just killed their parents. ... Maybe she's a clone.

Oh god, it's Tsubasa all over again.

..Oh god if Nunally is a clone I am going to kill CLAMP. D:

She'll say something like

" I think it's because I'm the 2nd one..."

Totally agreed. Nana's death was one of the best plot twists in R2, imo. I really, really loved it when the official chart went from 'missing' to 'dead'.

And I can only hope that this magazine summary is as wrong as the magazine summary for 21.
