Yeah....I been ambivalent over Lelouch until now, enjoying his grey morality, but now I think I do actively dislike him. Poor Mao.

I don't know...if I was in his position I'd want to take Mao out too. He's a crazy loose cannon who knows his identity and can cause all kinds of trouble for him. He already messed with Shirley and he's obviously willing to do more then that. I do feel bad for Mao, but if there is anyone to blame for him being the way he is it's C.C. Though I still like her despite what she did...

Mao is clearly mentally deranged; I didn't like it at all. We all know how selfish Lelouch is, but damn! is he selfish to the point of narcissism. And we always knew CC was that way. Lelouch is her current pawn.

I am not entirely happy with Mao being a crazed Chainsaw Massacre wannabe, but he's still interesting. Mad people fascinates me, though they'd better make that madness more than "I love you I need you let me cut you up with a chainsaw so you're bite size".

Lelouch was actually pretty practical, though. I *would* kill Mao in his position, too dangerous. (Though of course he enjoyed it. He was more pissed off than he had been with Clovis, and look how THAT turned out)

I'm surprised you didn't mention Lloyd's Earldom. THAT took me by surprise. Explains how he's on such personal terms with the royal folks, huh?

Lloyd is wonderful. *^_________^* It's even more amusing now - he's just a geeky old Aristo; he's very lucky - titled but not so highly titled as to be forced into obligations (like Clovis) over his love, which in his case is technology! :D

I emphathise very strongly with Mao; I can't read minds obviously, but I do have enochlophobia and am very sensitive to noise, esp in crowds. I get overwhelmed and it is very frightening. I can imagine just how bad it's been for Mao, so...I had a very strong emotional reaction to Mao. He wasn't at all how I'd thought he was going to be.

Lelouch did enjoy it. The ugly expression on his face was pretty stark. He and CC deserve each other.

Can you imagine Suzaku's feeling in that scene. Like, omg, my boss is actually a noble! Just like everyone else in my previous life! Except, he doesn't seem to care if his title sinks in the Atlantic! I can imagine him at family reunions where everyone shakes their heads and pretend he just has a regular vice, like gambling or polygamy. Then Schneizel, being the nice guy that he is, funds his research. The rest is history.

On one hand, the prevalence of noble/privileged/royal characters seem like social/literature commentary. Of course I may be reading too much in it.

I felt bad for Mao in that scene where he got all psyched out by the crowd around him. And at SIX. C.C dumping him after just one year had to be really painful. To be in this scary world with this one person who's safe unlike the others and she said she'd stay with you forever...and she dumps you after a year. OW.

I can imagine Schneizel and Lloyd scheming together over the technology. I like to think the Lancelot was born out of a very late, possibly slightly drunken night of ideas and brainstorming. XD And then Schneizel actually put up the money and Lloyd would be like...\^____^/

We always knew CC was a bitch; now we know more about the specifics. She's broken Mao completely and thrown him away; even if the Geass is removed and he can no longer hear the constant overwhelming voices, where would he go after 11 years of having nobody. :( Poor Mao.

I don't find nudity offensive in of itself; in fact, I find blatant fanservice quite funny because..well...it's so blatant!

One thing people seem to forget is that though Lelouch doesn't have Mao's mind-reading abilities, he can reasonably predict how people will react in a given situation based on his understanding of their personalities.

I have mixed opinions on this one because I really wanted to kick in Mao's head for that annoying clapping trait of his, but I'm also feeling gypped to see him go so soon.

Oh geez...C.C... I knew she was manipulative but not that much. Actually made me feel sorry for Mao... that is, until he started to shoot C.C... and took out the chainsaw (I thought this was Code Geass, not Chainsaw Massaecer XD ) And even after finding the even more manipulative side of C.C., I somehow became to like her more after this episode...

Anyway, I would have thought it was over for Mao if I hadn't read the preview for ep. 16 from a scan few weeks ago and hadn't caught the glipse at the end of the preview. Right before the preview ends, pause it. Look on the right side of the screen, see a sleeve and bandaged arm? Guess to whom it belongs :P

You have to say that CC being shot isn't all that much of a jeopardy though; she got shot in the head and survived it. Clearly shooting her is not a killing blow and indeed it wasn't; she was walking about just shortly afterwards.

Yeah, I read the preview for the next episode too. Though I wonder if he's going to be taken down for good in 16.

And Villetta...hmmm...wonder if she's faking the amnesia? Probably not. It's too convenient a plot device though. It seems we're going to see a nice side to Villetta. It'll be amusing when she gets her memory back though.

The manga part of that always cracks me up. The anime, he's like ">:)" and in the manga, he's like "):|". Oh, the angst, Majico-san, the angst.

.........how do we explain Euphie and Nanaly? Did their older siblings take all the crazy genes? Come to think of it, Clovis also seems to be far more pacifist/puppylike than Schneizel seems to be, as well...

Schneizel got Clovis's share of the brains. ;) Euphemia is (if not as immoral) tougher than she looks, and Nunally has the potential to be one of these crazy niisama types yet. Even though I think that she's likely to be the exception that proves the rule.

Does it? I've only read chapter 1, so I can't really tell...at the end of that, she seemed more traumatized than anything else.

If it does, then it proves that there are no sane people in the Britannian Royal Family. Euphie might be kind, but she's, uh, not altogether 'there'.
