Thank god, an official art without that fucking hat. \o/
The little way that Lelouch has his fingers in C.C.'s hair just breaks my heart. Happy harem end, please, Sunrise! ._. (I can't believe I'm not rooting for the tomino end for once)
This is probably one of my favourite official arts for Geass. It's not stunningly gorgeous, but the subtle body language and the composition of the scene is just amazing.
Oh, that hat is still there. Thankfully, he's just not wearing it.
Despite knowing better, I can't help but feel sad when looking at this picture. ("Happy harem end", eh? Hang on to your hope! I'll be cheering for you!) I've been trying to figure out why I like this picture so much, and I think you hit upon it: Subtlety--something that's been rather lacking in R2, to be honest.

You too? ;A;
The composition and body language in this one is superb. This is why I prefer Kimura Takahiro's (at least...I'm pretty sure it's our main art director here) Code Geass artwork more than the other official artists' work-they tend to have a softness and subtlety that some of the others severely lack.
And if by 'happy harem end' you mean Lelouch, Suzaku, and C.C. live happily-ever-after as a threesome, then I'm all for that too.

R2 lacks subtlety even by 4chan standards. That's really kind of impressive or awful, depending on how you look at it.
