I've been trying to draw him in that costume and it just boggles my mind. I ended up omitting the topcoat entirely because I came to the conclusion that it was POINTLESS.

Thank you!<3 But I STILL don't get how his topcoat works from the back. I mean, the left(from the back)....flap thing just seems to be hanging on his shoulder without anything to hold it in place. Then the right side had a random cloak coming out from seemingly nowhere and I have no idea how I should take it.>_>;; Ah well, Lelouch's fabulousness holds everything in place.

Are you thinking of doing cosplay of it? Cuz I've been looking at it this whole time from the perspective of "cosplay realism" and it just doesn't make sense. As art, sure. As a real outfit? Hell to the no.

It's CLAMP. That's my only explanation, I guess. XD

I'm definitely interested to see what cosplayers do with it.

Thankfully, no.XDD I can imagine the pain of just seeing the costume as a cosplayer. Just trying to draw a few fanart with him wearing his emperor costume, but even as art the costume is....complex.

I have been wondering, though. Does CLAMP's influence on Geass extend to clothing design?

Ah, good. XD Might've thought you were crazy (or very brave) there for a second. I actually prefer the emperor costume over his school uniform just because it's more interesting to draw. >_> My only problem with their costumes is how they love to put YELLOW on every edge. Ugh, so annoying.

My guess is that they also do the clothing designs. It's really easy to compare these latest outfits to the Tsubasa characters (like Sakura's hat. lolol) so... they probably do. I wouldn't see why not. They don't have any influence on the story as far as I know, so they're probably trying to piss off the animators with these hard-as-hell outfits. XD

XDDD I failed my needlework class in middle school. Even the thought of making that emperor costume is suicide. WORD. They have gold/yellow edges EVERYWHERE. For someone like me who has trouble drawing long lines it's...asldfj3029tjd. Zero costume has yellow stuff, school uniform has them, and even the EMPEROR costume has them.>_>

True. CCS is what first came to my mind when I saw the early sketches of his costume.XDD CLAMP is evil incarnate. I wouldn't be surprised.

I suck hardcore at making any long lines in photoshop. ;o; They always get wiggly somehow. I blame my tablet pen.

I've been sort of hoping that they have some hand in the story, though. Since CLAMP has a thing for ~gay~ as it is, I keep hoping they'll make homolust real. *sniff*
