I realized. How on earth did Guilford survive Freya? the thought hit me while I was rewatching turn 24. We all saw him getting swallowed up by Freya in turn 18, BUT I AM STILL PONDERING THAT HARD ON WHY HE SURVIVED.

Is this another plot hole perhaps? or maybe the idea about freya : some sort of teleportation thing is true?

or maybe it's all just an illusion.

OR MAYBE GUILFORD DOES CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR HIS HIME-SAMA. EVEN IF HE IS BLIND (I think)

Well, Gilford was almost out of the 'bubble' Freya created. It's likely that at the borders of the bubble Freya didn't hit as hard as at its centre in fact they showed there were people who died but whose body was found (Nina was staring at them as they were put into bags). Considering he was at the borders and inside a Knightmares and that he might have ejected, using the ejection as a way to further distance himself from Freya it's possible he distanced himself enough from it to survive even if he underwent some damage.

... even if i wish Sunrise would avoid doing this sort of thing... even if I'm glad he's alive... now, Sunrise is there any chance you're going to tell us Rolo didn't die but fainted and Lelouch buried a fake just to make us think Rolo's dead?

I rewatched the scene and the first to get hit where the legs. When Freya reached the Knightmare's waist (the cockpit is right after it) the scene switched to Gilford talking to Lelouch/Cornelia. It's possible Freya never reached it or only marginally reached it or that at its edge it wasn't that powerful... I honestly don't know since I hadn't seen the subbed version yet... -_-

iawtc. Guilford is at the very edge of FLEIA's limit, and Lelouch at the edge of its outer limits. Lelouch escaped unscathed, so it's possible that Guilford got injured, but live. As for how and who saved him afterwards, who knows? Claudio maybe? Schneizel? (note: I haven't seen subs so I don't know what Claudio and Villetta were talking about in Penglai Island)

As for his blindness, someone at koda's blog suggested that Guilford gouged his own eyes out to eliminate geass effect on him. Whether it'll be true or not, that's GAR and has now become canon in my mind.

I haven't seen the sub yet either... ;_; but your idea might work...
As for the Geass... I don't know, even if the effect shows in the eyes I was thinking it affects the brain not the eyes...
Also I wonder how Cornelia managed to get out of Damocles... I was sure she was still alive but somehow it seems hard to picture Shneizel had let her go. He might have thought she was dead but still he seems the type who would check if an enemy body in front of him is a corpse or not...

But if he couldn't see Lelouch, he couldn't recognize him as Cornelia. Therefore effectively eliminating the Geass.

MAN, THAT'S GAR BEYOND COMPAR.

Well... I would have preferred to just avoid looking at him... but he might have thought of that...
