Finally mustered up the courage to post this here. Quick now, before I change my mind. :x

Title: To Keep Your Pretty Ghost From Chasing Me
Pairing: Suzaku/Lelouch
Rating: PG-13
Genre: drabble, tragedy
Summary: An AU take on the ending of R2. Or rather, how it happened in my head.
A/N: There were so many different ideas I had in mind for this one. I wish I could have written them all, however, there is only so much patience one has for words at 6 am.

The deafening din of the crowd below buzzed inside his head as he plunged his sword deep inside His Majesty's body. His stomach churned something awful at the feeling of the blade contorting through skin and muscle, Lelouch's ragged breath wrecking his tired frame.   This was the end, and oh, take me with you, he pleaded in silence behind the mask. For him there was climax, no moral, no lesson learned. Just more cold blood on the hands of a liar. Tears poured freely from his eyes now as his beloved Lelouch fell limp in his arms. I'm sorry, Your Majesty.   For anyone else, a stab wound to the abdomen would result fatal. But Kururugi Suzaku, Knight of Zero, was a remarkable swordsman. Aware of every pressure point, every vital organ that barely slipped past the blade, every heartbeat that stained flawless white robe with crimson. But for now, at least...   Suzaku the soldier was trained to kill. Suzaku the knight was disciplined to carry out orders. But right now, Suzaku the man was determined to save a life. "Live on."
