What music do you think fits the characters, relationships, entities, and events of Code Geass, especially given a recent finale? The music can be any genre, any artist, any time.

Schneizel

Boom Like That, Mark Knopfler. It's about McDonald's, but if you take out the Ray-Kroc-specific lyrics it could fit him perfeclty. Or a version of Schneizel who gave a shit, anyway. I've got the name, I need the town, they sell up in the end and it all shuts down. Sometimes you've got to be an S.O.B. if you want to make a dream reality. Competition--send them south. If they're going to drown, put a hose in their mouth.

Lelouch during Zero Requiem

Hallelujah--the original version, with Leonard Cohen's original final verse: And even though it all went wrong, I'll stand before the Lord of Song with nothing on my lips but 'hallelujah.' Enough said.

Lelouch and Nunnally

The Night Starts Here, Stars. For sheer angst value. The scary part, the aftershock, the moment that it takes to fall apart; the time we have, the task at hand, the love it takes to destroy a man...

C.C. and Lelouch post-finale if you subscribe to that theory

Two of Us. This Beatles song is upbeat yet strangely melancholy, a distinguishing feature of the Let It Be album. You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead. Two of us wearing raincoats, standing so low in the sun, you and me chasing paper, getting nowhere on our way back home.

Clovis, Euphie, Shirley, Rolo, Charles, Marianne, V.V., and possibly Lelouch now

Litanei by Johann Georg Jacobi. It's for All Souls Day. Und die nie der Sonne lachten, unterm Mond auf Dornen wachten, Gott, in reinen Himmelslicht, einst zu sehn von Angesicht: Alle die von hinnen schieden, alle Seelen ruhn in Frieden! And those who never smiled at the sun, waiting on the thorns beneath the moon to see God in the pure heavenly light and look Him just once in the face: all who have parted from here, all souls rest in peace!

Nunnally, Kaguya, and Tianzi as leaders of the new world

Girls Just Want To Have Fun. Yeah, I don't know either.

Oh, so nice, I like this game. FSTs are love and just a couple of days ago, I was discussing with my friend [livejournal.com profile] moon_lolita how awesome a CG musicall could be.. XDD

Giving some of mine, with a bit of translation because some are italian (my mothertongue) songs.

Lelouch 's general theme song has always been Queen - Under Pressure to me, not that I have any rational reason for that, though.. ^^;

Lloyd: Daft Punk - Technologic more the sound and genre of music than the lyric

Jeremiah : (background music for the whole 'Orange' scene with Zero being 'il factotum della città' in the end) Gioachino Rossini - Il barbiere di Siviglia, Largo al factotum

Tohdoh (before joining the BK in s1): the first lines of Cent'anni di solitudine - Modena City Ramblers (rough traslation)"Coronel, hand over your weapons/you can't win, the fight is over already/the church is against you, your allies betray/and you've lost too many of your friends in this war/You took part in 36 revolts/ and 36 revolts you failed / tienes que esperar / just when you less expected it/ a man with your flag in the hand will come"

Villetta to Ohgi (when he was about to be executed in R2 ep.4): Regina Spektor - Samson " You couldn't bring the columns down/ you couldn't destroy a single one [..] and the history books forgot about us / and the Bible didn't mention us/ not even once... you are my sweetest downfall/ I loved you fast"

Ohgi to Villetta (when he was exiled to Hoorai, before they met again): Messico e Nuvole - Paolo Conte (rough traslation)" shes so beautifull, I know / time has gone by and she's still in my veins / how I wish, how I wish / to get back where she is / but I know I won't go /[...] this is a contraband love / it's better to sit her looking at the sky/ in front of me"

Emperor Lelouch (Lelouch POV) : Yann Tiersen - Les Jour Tristes "Hard not to break down and cry /When every idea that you've tried has been wrong
But you must go on /It's hard but you know it's worth the fight/ 'cause you know you've got the truth on your side /When the accusations fly, hold tight / Don't be afraid of what they'll say/ Who cares what cowards think, anyway /They will understand one day, one day "

The Epilogue, Nunnaly: Andrew Lloyd Weber - JCS the Musicall; Could we start again please? "I think you've made your point now/ You've even gone a bit too far to get your message home/ Before it gets too frightening, we ought to call a halt/ so could we start again please?" and the rest of the world joining the chorus
