The ending was alright. I liked it because it left the stuff that people were scared to find out about up to their own imaginations, but I also wanted concrete answers at the same time. I can't make up my mind about the ending, so I'm going to be neutral forever.

Wow. I'm surprised that so many people think Lelouch is alive; of course, they could just be joking. I personally think he's dead. It would seem cheap to me if he survived, and I'd really like to have closure after Geass.

I just feel terrible for Suzaku. That's all I really care about, actually.

This. Agreed. I don't deny the possibility that he could still be alive (they left us ample stuff to keep us happy), but say he is - in what way is eloping with C.C. (regardless of how much he cares for her) fair to Nunnally and everyone else? Would he even do that?

And what would it mean for the plot. Goodness. I do believe he's dead, heartbreaking as it is.

Seriously, the ending is that way to make viewers speculate. No need all these varrious degrees of condescending tone on people who believes Lelouch is alive/dead when you believe he's dead/alive.

I only liked the ending (not loved) because they didn't show an epilogue involving all of the other characters. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MILLY AND RIVALZ. And the Black Knights. Everyone is in the dark. :(

I'm a Lelouch fan and I'm not going to say if I like him dead or alive. C.C's name is still a mystery. I wish they revealed it. I think Sunrise is going to pull Death Note on us. Suzaku can't be immortal. That's not possible.

I voted with my head, not my heart. It's the right ending for Lelouch to be dead and Suzaku to be stuck doing Mr. Zero until the end of his days, but my heart is in complete denial.

And damn it, if Lelouch is dead, I want Xing-ke to be dead too. Excuse me while I put my pout on.

It never even occurred to me that Suzaku might be immortal. That would be too unbearably horrible for him. :(

I hope there's a mini-OVA released, just a little epilogue showing where everyone's at, say, six months later. Like that 5 minute bonus OVA Gundam SEED had. Let's, um, just ignore what happened afterwards. Having said that, I think the ending is fine the way it is - I just hope that if they do make a sequel, it's not an entirely new story.

I'm neutral on the issue of whether Lelouch is dead or alive because it works well either way, catering at times to my tragedy and happy end cravings. I really liked that they left it ambiguous.

Although I was overall happy with the final episode in that it gave a firm conclusion to the show and had plenty of emotion, I was annoyed that they had brought so many threads into the series that they didn't bother to resolve (C.C.'s name, Lloyd/Cecile's past connections with Laksharta, origin of geass, Suzaku's connection with geass, etc.), not to mention there were SO MANY characters that I felt didn't get a proper conclusion. she just wanted more fodder for her ships

The ending is supposed to be ambiguous; they put in enough to build a theory of him surviving but don't confirm it so his fate can be whatever you want it to be- kind of like the ending to FF7 before Enix ate Square and told them to fuck it over with over 9000 sequels and spinoffs.

Suzaku being immortal is a definite no, there's no evidence of him attaining that power.

Xing Ke is most likely dead, but I was kind of sad that they didn't let us know that through anything other than him not being in the photos from after the end (ie the wedding photo.) I was at least expecting a shot of Tianzi standing over his grave, maybe they'll do like they did with HiME and have that in an extended version of the ending montage for the DVD/Blu-ray version.

CC's real name was probably going to be important in the original plot outline, but then its significance got cut in later rewrites. I suspect that the whole thing with CC's past, Ragnarok, and Marianne's death was supposed to be very different (though you can tell from the last Mao episode that her goal of getting rid of her immortality was there from the start) but then they realized that they couldn't fit it all in properly so they had to re-do it within the framework of the existing hints they had dropped in season 1 (and you can kinda tell- they explained how Marianne could talk to CC telepathically, but that explanation doesn't work for how Charles could have been talking to Clovis at the start of episode 6.)

More than likely in CC's past version 1.0 she was some famous historical figure (a lot of people guessed Joan of Arc,) which would explain why hiding her name was important.

You need a "I have no fucking clue" option for the first question.

I think the ending was fine, although it left many things up to our imagination. For example, we still don't know if Lelouch is truly dead or what C.C.'s name is. I think that Sunrise should've revealed her name, because it's kind of pointless to say in S1 "Oh hey C.C. has a name and Lelouch knows what it is but the rest of you don't get to hear it right now :D", and then not reveal or even mention it at all.

I'm not touching the other questions, however the ending was bascially "we're gonna milk this shit for all it's worth" type of ending. it's ambigious so everyone will still talk and discuss geass FOREVER. if they would have given us a solid conclusion, we'd all be able to go on living our little lives, however no solid ending leaves a whole lotta room for discussion. people will discuss if lelouch is alive or not till the end of time and will continue to still love geass and to still buy merchandise.

I want Lelouch to be dead (no matter how much I love him) because it's the best way to end the story, IMHO. But Suzaku had better not have any immortality at all. He's been screwed over enough, thank you. Just let him get Nunally settled in and then he can kick the bucket (by ordering Schneizel to kill him-Geass vs. Geass).

And I refuse to believe Xing Ke is dead. I shouldn't care so much, but I do. Tianzi is too adorable to have him die on her. I'm assuming all this money they have left over from not making Knightmares can go into medicine. If they can cure Kallen's mother of her crack addiction then they can cure Xing Ke of his 'coughing up lungs' disorder.

Also, C.C's name is cool being a mystery (but if they make it a 'hidden bonus' on some later merchandise then all's well).

And the last episode was stellar.
