Title: Swallowing the Light from the Sun
Day/Theme:
31_days, Oct 6 2008, are you now or have you ever been
Character(s)/Pairing: Rolo & Lelouch (Lelouch+Rolo; Lelouch/Rolo if you really want to squint)
Genre: Character Introspective, Drama
Rating: G
Summary: And in the end, Rolo never gets to see what Lelouch does with the world, the future, or the life he's given him. But Rolo's always believed in him. And perhaps that in itself is enough.
Notes: Mostly a Rolo introspective from the time he meets Lelouch and onward. Spoilers all the way till R2 episode 18&19. Vague hint at the events of R2 25. This is also an indirect effort to explain/defend/offer a different perspective on the things Rolo is usually bashed for. Because in the end, perhaps he's really just a child misunderstood.
Music: Goo Goo Dolls - Black Ballon [[listen // lyrics]]
Link: and the risk that might break you is the one that would save
2.
I never thought I'd write directly for the ending, but my muse did attack me sometime last week. This one is posted here because it's still locked on my own journal. (I was shy. But not too shy about it now ;D)
Title: Atonement & Collision
Character(s)/Pairing: Suzaku/Lelouch
Genre: Drama, Angst
Rating: NC-16 (Somewhat vague and implied, but still gay. So there we go ;P)
Notes: Spoilers for R2 25
---
In the end Lelouch never tells him that he loves him.
They dance, and it is a dance of bitterness and harmony, of promise and of lies, and oh so sinful, as if the world itself is not already tainted with enough sin.
No, in the state it is in now, the world will never have enough sin.
When it is over Lelouch takes his face with trembling hands; there are tears in his eyes but he strokes his cheek and his neck and he is smiling.
"You need to be strong, tomorrow. For tomorrow." The murmur is smooth and hoarse all at once, and Suzaku holds his wrist and plants a kiss into his palm.
"I know."
When they next meet head on it is in front of the hushed crowd, the world, under the bluest blue sky as red washes over white against a glistening blade. And Lelouch whispers words to him, words that bring him together and rip him apart all at once as every raw nerve is strung taut, throbbing and high in ragged, spinning emotion.
Lelouch's will has always been for him to live on. Only today, in the most fragile broken moment, does Suzaku find the courage to tell him that he will.
And with a deep breath that slices through them both, Kururugi Suzaku ends it all and pulls the sword free.
