This is my first Code Geass fanfic, and second fanfic in general, so I would love whatever feedback people leave! Thank you for reading!

AN: Aah, I just can’t get this out of my head. I don’t know if anyone has written this type of story yet, but it was bugging the hell out of me, so I wrote this in biology class. There might be a follow-up, but this can be read by itself. Un-betaed
 

Part 1

Suzaku POV

It had been ten years of solitude for him.

~pant~

He no longer piloted a Knightmare Frame, leaving those matters to the Knights of Rounds.

~turn, slice, dip~

They knew who he was.

But he had offered neither recognition nor explanation.

They eventually accepted his silence.

~block~

Until no one tried to treat him as Kururugi Suzaku anymore.

~crescent, switch, crescent~

Except for Nunnally.

She still showed a smile towards Suzaku.

A different smile from the one that she showed Zero.

~parry~

His still never took his mask off for her.

~slash, reverse, slash~

The world can handle itself without Zero now.

It had learned to trust the leaders it had chosen.

Zero had become as unnecessary as Kururugi Suzaku.

~dodge~

Tomorrow will be his epilogue to the Zero Requiem.

~faint, evade, strike~

His farewell to Arthur had been bidden hours ago.

His farewell to Nunnally had been penned months go.

His farewell to the world had been scripted years ago.

~thrust~

…

~stop~

He can’t wait for tomorrow to come.
 

Part 2

C.C. POV

It had been ten years of waiting for her.

~huff~

Her contract with Lelouch was about to end.

~hum, sweep, bend~

Her wish is going to be fulfilled.

Both of her wishes.

~cradle~

She had been loved.

~flip, shake, fold~

Not in a romantic way, perhaps, but she was loved.

It was enough.

~drape~

She had been content.

~gaze, listen, breathe~

Lelouch will be all right by himself.

He won’t be lonely ever again.

~lock~

She had made sure of that.

~smile, blink, wipe~

She hadn’t told Lelouch anything.

This will be her gift to him, as compensation for the curse she had set on him.

~start~

~fade~

She’s been looking forward to this moment for a long time.

Part 3

Suzaku POV 

She came to him, two years ago.

~inhale~

He was definitely not expecting to see her ever again.

~grin, shrug, sigh~

He had just come back from a meeting of the United Federation of Nations.

It had been eight years, but his reflexes were quick as ever.

He almost pulled his gun on her.

~step~

He had questions he wanted to ask.

~unfold, frown, squint~

Instead, he offered her tea.

She accepted, and remained silent.

It was a battle between his curiosity and patience.

~snort~

Her desire won.

~tuck, hoist, stride~

She asked for a contract with him.

She asked for him to use it regularly.

She asked for one last service.

~hasten~

He agreed.

~slow, pause, open~

Time to fulfill the last part of their contract.

He was providing the necessary equipment.

They both thought that it was rather fitting.

~activate~

…

~accept~

No words were necessary.

Part 4

C.C. POV

She hadn’t been kept long.

~exhale~

She had chosen this place for the memories that it holds.

~kneel, clasp, pray~

As one was passed to her here, so she will pass it on to another.

It just so happens that the other she chose was him.

~stand~

She knew that he would be able to accomplish it in two years.

~consider, curtsy, straighten~

He had the determination and motive.

Just like Lelouch.

~round~

She wished them peace and joy.

~examine, reach, halt~

For lovers who wanted to never part, the Code.

For lovers who wanted to move on together, the Geass.

~touch~

Maybe those were the original intentions.

~still, wait, chuckle~

She’ll just leave the explanations to Suzaku.

After all, he’s the one who has the time to make it up to Lelouch.

~gasp~

~fall~

She thought that the love between the two might have been more than even her Geass could have commanded.
