Now that Code Geass is over, I'm already feeling reminiscent.

I think that when I'm 80, old and wrinkly, I'll one day listen again to the songs of this anime, of belted "jibun wo"'s and "shiawase neiro"'s,  and then break down to cry at the memory of golden teenager days bygone in front of my laptop, torrenting episodes every Sunday. I've watched plenty of anime but this was one of those landmark animes that stands to mark a period in your life. When I was 10, that was Sailor Moon, and when I was 14 that was Yugioh and others I now feel embarressed to even mention.

Sorry for the unneeded melodrama. Surely many others in this community feel the same way as me?

I know how you feel!! I'm soooo sad its over. The other day I was listening to songs and got really depressed and sad because the anime is over. Its my fav anime of all time! I have nothing to do on Sundays now because its off :( I also watched Sailor Moon and Yugioh and was sad they ended. Now I gotta go find something else to fill the void. But overall I think code geass will always be my favorite anime.

I agree with this post so much. ;;

IAWTPSOFM.

The ~journey was an epic one, fosho. Through all the tears and the twists and the cracks and the WTF SUNRISE TROLLS, I loved it. I miss my Geass Sundays so much.

Yeah, this has definitely been one of those animes that are an experience through and through. Some shows, I know I've seen them, but I can't for the life of me remember how it ended, or sometimes even when/where I saw them. But for Code Geass, I will always remember how I discovered it (ignored it on AniDB because it was mecha, then saw some interesting icons on [livejournal.com profile] iconfiend and realized that the character designs were CLAMP, and was instantly hooked after watching the first episode), and certainly how it ended. LELOUCH LIVES. >_>

Er, [livejournal.com profile] iconfiend100, I meant. Not that anyone cares. But I bet there are billions of Geass claims on it, now. Haven't checked it in ages.

Don't feel bad. I think Code Geass is the best thing to happen to American anime since Cowboy Bebop. Now if Adult Swim would stop being such fuck heads, the industry stateside could experience a revival.

OMG COWBOY BEBOP. ♥ ♥ That was the one anime besides Trigun that my sister liked, and she hates anime. xDDD I swear, I loved the dub of Cowboy Bebop. Adult Swim was also ♥ before it went gay, and not in the good way. D: God, I miss the old kickass Adult Swim that had Yu Yu Hakusho in all it's cussing glory...rofl

Haha, same here. I also used to watch Yugioh and Sailor Moon too. ♥ Though I barely remember the Sailor Moon TV series, I just remember two of the movies. xDD;;

But god, who could ever forget the mindfucks Code Geass? Impossible. *sniffles* I'll be old and wrinkly and remember this anime too. :D

Yeah, I know exactly how you feel!
How certain shows mark certain times of you life.

Oh, you're not the only one!
And it's nto just CG, I guess every time someone turns on the sound system and plays a CD of good-nostalgic animes! @_@~

I guess being old it's kind of that... x.x

IAWTP. A lot

Don't worry! You have a lot of people who share your sentiment, myself included. For the past two weeks, I've been going "Ah...there's no Geass to wait for this Saturday night, huh?" And, just yesterday, I found myself waiting at Animesuki...just to realize there was no play-by-play to wait for anymore. Man, I miss Geassday so much ;A;

;__; Yes, I agree with you.

I used to love Sailor Moon back in my elementary/primary days, but then I hated it. >_> Oh, and then there was Pokemon, which I loved, but then got sick of the other seasons after the Kanto arc. And then there was Card Captor Sakura, but I got over that 'cause I thought it was stupid how Sakura and Syaoran were so young and already confessing their love to each other. xD And then Yu-Gi-Oh...

;__; But Code Geass! I think this is the one anime I will actually love for a very long time (Death Note takes second place). All these other anime I'm currently watching have some of the voice actors from CG in it, and it makes me depressed.

Stuff you, Xingke Edgar. Dx

Yes I feel the same way. I was first a sailor moon fan then a pokemon fan then a digimon fan then a then a cardcaptor fan then a mew mew power fan then lots of anime fan then a death note fan then a tsubasa fan then a huge CLAMP fan I wonder what is next.

Watch another Anime/Read another Manga?

Code Geass was enjoyable but I don't consider it the best, maybe I'm slightly detached from the community in that regard.

I understand how you feel. I also think that some when in my 40-ish years of life I would be reminded about Death Note and Code Geass and all that fangirling time with other fandoms, maybe I'd be like "Lulz those anime I watched.. Those doujinshi I read.." or be miserable again remembering the death of the characters.
Either way, I realise that I could blame most of this to the unstable teenage hormone.
And Sunrise for fucking with my mind and emotions.

I believe that I understand what you're saying.
I mean, in no way is Code Geass my favorite series, but it's done a lot for me. I'll move on, certainly, but it's a series that when I watch it when I'm older, I'll be like "Damn"

A landmark series indeed.

lmao I still get all lame and nostalgic whenever I listen to my old Pokemon or YuGiOh songs on my ipod. Good times...

I die laughing whenever I play my 2.B.A Master Pokemon CD. xDDD

AHAHA I KNOW. Team Rocket's song still makes me lol. Not to mention that other CD with Brock's song on it? We Pokemon fans were spoiled LMAO.

D8 I only managed to bully my dad into buying it get the first CD, though.

You mean the Nurse Joy/Officer Jenny song? xD! That was so freakin' hilarious. xDD; "A one woman's man is what I wanna be, but there's two perfect girls for meeeeee~~"

When I become a person I will be embarrassed to remember that I used to like anime and that I wasted so much of my life on this bullshit. Can't wait.
Date/Time: 2008-10-13 02:31 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] crossxx.livejournal.com
I'm already kicking myself for wasting so much time, but I'm tolerant of pain. I believe there will be one day in the future where I may just be like, WRYYYYYYYYYYY.

The idea of being 80-something and still watching anime depresses me beyond words. XD But hey, why not ride out the wave while it lasts? We have fun right, and that's what's important. Geass is definitely one of my personal landmark animes, along with some others. It's also the first time since Naruto that I was really invested into fandom and actively participated. I will miss that the most, the community and sharing approach. Oh I'm sure I'll find something else eventually, but there's always a special place for Geass.

I know how you feel. Pokémon marked my life when I was 10, Sakura Card Captor when I was 12, Rurouni Kenshin when I was 14 and so on. Many animes really are important in my life that way. Geass is going to mark my nineteens for sure.
Date/Time: 2008-10-13 04:15 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] kariavalon.livejournal.com
For me.. it's Pokemon (Sailor Moon was long forgotten lmao ;; ), then Digimon (which stayed longer than my Pokemon phase), and sitting alongside it is Cardcaptors. That's what started my enlightenment on how cruddy it really is.. but that's besides the point. My further exposure to Japanese vocalized anime is Di Gi Charat and Pita Ten LOL.

Code Geass definitely left a landmark of anime I'll remember. XD

Word. I miss Code Geass so much, it's hard for me to even look at Lelouch sometimes :'D

What I would hate to happen is have the fandom die, especially this community...there are a lot of people in this comm that I respect, though I might never have said anything, and already I miss reading their comments. This fandom is too full of WIN for me to be willing to let go of it yet ^_^;;
Date/Time: 2008-10-13 05:26 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] shad-fg.livejournal.com
... This is going to happen every sunday.

Nah..it'll be an asymptotic regression :P Might as well keep this community alive lest it go the way of all dead communities a minute too soon.

I'll definately remember Code Geass until I'm old.
I guess it'll be my no.1 forever... with Gundam Seed as a second.
.. I guess I was around 10 too during the Sailormoon period. I started hated it around the S season though.
