What draws you to Geass?

Why yes we are a poll. And yes I do live here. After reading something verity_isle said about people watching Geass for the lulz only and following most of the anime blogs, I asked myself why I watch Geass. I realized the answer has changed from the time I started watching the series to just after the Mao arc, when Geass suddenly became my *show* as I once viewed my other fave Naruto. So as usual, I have two questions to pose:


1. Why did you originally start watching Geass? When might be cool to know too since I know we have people here since October and others who recently marathoned the whole thing. It seems to me when a person started watching Geass partially determines the why.

2. Why do you stick with Geass AKA what do you love about it?


For me, I started with Geass sheerly because 1.)it was Clamp, 2.)Lelouch looks like Kamui and 3.)I love Kamui no matter what hell he puts me through. I did originally just watch it for the WTFery, although I always adored Lelouch. Now I admit I'm into the political intrigue and just how Lelouch is going to screw himself deal with things next. I might add more to this later but I'd rather hear some others first.

CLAMP only designed the characters. I don't think they have anything to do with the script. If they did, Lelouch would've been raped by crazymofo!Suzaku by now.

It would be amusing to learn that Clamp had any level of say in the storyline since as another person and I discussed there are some classic Clamp staples tossed in.

I don't know, Geass is original in some ways and not original vice versa. It's just got that whole Gundam SEED/Destiny vibe.

My bet is on Lulu losing the eye too. I just don't see Lulu keeping this power at the end...it's gonna be taken away somehow and since this series has a Clamp connection what better way then losing an eye! Poor Lulu.

It would creep me out so hard if Lelouch lost the Geass eye, but it is one of those Frodo of the Nine Fingers things so it might be appropriate. I predict C.C.'s people might try to reclaim it should Lelouch fuck up and not deliver.

Internal ficcer actually pits him at losing both eyes, oh the irony. Of course that's less sexy, but it's angsty and bitter and that's kinda what internal ficcer wants. If CLAMP's taking just one, the other can be donated to the eyeball bank. I'm pretty sure purple eyes are in demand somewhere.

(Of course, if canon is doing this at all, he's probably losing just The Geass Eye)

I'd love to have me some real purple eyes. It's my favorite eye color for characters: Kamui, Tsuzuki, Kira Yamato and Dark.

Both, I think. Even one time I swore that his eyes are green in one of the artbook pictures XD but alas, i couldn't find said picture.

And Fujimiya 'Aya' Ran from Weiss Kreuz. I don't know whether you watch the series or not though... but I just found it amusing that amethyst eyes have been paired up with almost every hair color for bishounen. Raven, brunette, purple, and red. We just need a blondie now XD

I think I'm dead from your comment. Well, my logic works a bit weird: Clamp = famous = won't work on anything stereotypically boring to death anime. Before working on anything, I bet they had read Geass script. And when a group as famous and perfectionist as clamp I don't think they will do every single offer thrown at them if it's not worth their effort and time. They have an image to keep after all. But that's probably just my opinion about them *shrugs*
