I've kept up with buying all of the Code Geass DVDs as they were released in America, but the R2 DVDs are seriously lacking.
I miss the sound dramas, CDs, and awesome booklets that came with the Limited Edition copies. Where have they gone?
They even dropped the picture dramas entirely!
Not to mention they delete all R2 picture dramas that happen to be subtitled because it goes against copyright law. If they don't even distribute the picture dramas, why should they have power when it comes to them?
Sure the extra flash specials happen to be included, but they're so basic that it might take up to an hour for them to subtitle 3 or 4 episodes.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on??

Anyway, i think Bandai is losing anyway, cause the fans have a right to complain, in terms of comparison with the other releases anyway.

The Code Geass fanbase isn't that strong in the U.S. from what I've seen at Anime conventions.
It's sad though that they got a lot of our hopes up.

Bandai is really failing. They're releasing the same 25 episodes in TWO extra DVD sets with WAY less content in a desperate attempt to get more money out of us while investing less of their own. It's just backfiring and causing people to stop investing any money in them at all.

Either way, the extras make such a different, I don't get what's the happs with Bandai these days.

I'm still srsly thinking of burning the crap english dubbing Dramas from the first season. There was no way in hell i wanted such stuff.
I would have loved another artbox for R2 tho. So they'd sorta match.

What would be cool is if they did a 5th release that contained a series box + a DVD with all the picture dramas + all the audio dramas on CD.

I mean, I would have loved to see all the extras, especially since that would make the boxsets actually worth all the money? but, uh. Yeah. Though at least they're giving us something. In some other companies' DVDs their "extras" are just trailers for series licensed under the same company, basically ads, and maybe one dvd commentary.
If you didn't already know
Some PD subs are here, in the 1-7 batch torrent.
Don't forget to only check to download the res you want (720p is the usual)

Anime as a whole is kind of failing in this economy anyways, so while I am sorely disappointed, I am not surprised.

... Which is too bad all around, because the lack of picture dramas in any form (just subbed would be OK with me) means that I for one am waiting on buying R2 until I can get it for really cheap, whereas I bought the S1 LE sets relatively soon after they were released.
