Geass.jp has updated with news on their new project that they've begun working on. It looks like there will be more information released in the summer.
If someone can translate any other new information, that'd be great.
And here's the Code Geass article in Newtype 6.

The only (coherent) things of interest I could find on that webpage was that Boukoku no Akito is only a tentative title, and might change, and from the Taniguchi & Okuichi comments that though there were a lot of calls for a sequel, they decided to go with "expansion" instead of a continuation.
Oh, and that there may be more "expansion" in the future, so fans should stay tuned.
Someone who can actually read Japanese ought to take a proper look. And at the Taniguchi interview in the scan.

I hope this side story retains at least some of the original main cast. I really couldn't care less about all the irrelevant Elevens even in the original anime, let alone about a whole new set of them.

i think having a side story is the only way for Lelouch to show up again in anime form...since the director confirmed that he's dead. :( So I'll be looking forward to any cameos that show up in the new anime.

Bring on the new series, I'm ready for a new story and set of characters to love just as much as the original.

CLAMP is still involved with the design of the new anime characters. :)

I think each manga had a different mangaka. We haven't seen any new designs for the new anime project yet...in case everyone thought that that was the new anime series.

I mean, if you're gonna say that he wasn't the lead writer, neither was Tomino in Gundam's UC franchise. And despite 0079, Zeta, etc. all having different writers, they are definitely all considered within the UC canon due to the unity of setting, as well as having Tomino as the director.

The manga starts at the end of the month in Shonen Ace. There is no release date for the anime yet

Now, I know people are going crazy because they see Lelouch in this scan, but promotional pictures are meant to do just that: hype people up regardless of what the actual content of the article is saying. Countless pictures that mean nothing have been published in these magazines before.
Don't fall for what might just be a tease. In fact, in last month's Newtype there was a rhetorical question suggesting Lelouchs was in the new Code Geass Gaiden anime project, but it turns out that doesn't seem to be the case. Lots of stuff like that has showed up before too.
In other words....wait until the manga goes on sale, which is going to happen soon enough.
