This entry on the Code Geass wiki piqued my curiosity, specifically with this quote:

"In the first diary segment, which takes place during the sixth episode, Sayoko meets Suzaku for the first time, and apparently has a hint of affection for him. When Sayoko hears Suzaku's voice with Lelouch, she tries to call him, but overhears them saying that they should not been seen together, so that nobody will know about their relationship. Sayoko thinks that Suzaku is romantically involved with Lelouch, which completely devastates her."

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is Sayoko upset at thinking Lelouch is gay/unavailable, or Suzaku, or both? I fear I'm being afflicted with Sayoko/Lelouch and Sayoko/Suzaku fanfic plotbunnies...

Oh wait, that is referring to Sayoko's diary segments; yeah, she blushes around Suzaku and stuff, so she apparently has a crush on him. Then she misunderstands his relationship with Lelouch /who doesn't anyway/ so she is upset because he thinks he is taken by Lulu-princess.

There's chibi picture-drama-esque shorts about Sayoko - which I can't find ANYWHERE subbed but which I can mostly understand - and also Sayoko's diary entries, all of which (at least for R1) are included with the Japanese and American DVDs (I can't speak for any others).
Basically, Sayoko has a crush on Suzaku (who she likes to call Su-san - "We Japanese have to stick together" - which he begrudgingly but politely accepts). He's kind and he helped her out with the garbage when it was overwhelming her one time. It's been a while so I can't recall perfectly, but I believe there was also a joke about her wanting to be a dominatrix for him or something. And she introduces herself in a really weird voice: SHI NO ZA KI SAYO KO DA YOOOOOO~!
You know the basics of what happens shortly thereafter: she hears Suzaku and Lelouch talking about not being seen together so that nobody will know about their relationship. She then imagines they're in a gay relationship, and is disappointed that Suzaku is gay so he won't return her affections.
She's probably not disappointed or even very shocked about Lelouch, because according to her journal she thinks he's a cross-dresser. She saw some of C.C.'s clothes in Lelouch's room and knows he's been sneaking around and having hushed phone conversations, and that was her explanation. Later in the season, she started to worry a bit that Lelouch is a sis-con for real. She expressed no interest in him.
But hey I've seen some interesting Sayoko/Lelouch so don't let me burst your bubble if that's what you want; I'm just telling you what I've seen/read.

That would be because people like to ship Lelouch with absolutely everyone, regardless of plausibility. Or things like, say, actually speaking to each other at all.

Suzaku gets somewhat less of that sort of thing.

This is rather late, but well - if you're interested in side material/"official" fan material, there IS a short comic that has some Sayoko/Suzaku and Suzaku/Lelouch (by the circle Fuukatei, I think) in Knight volume 5.
Summary: Sayoko (while in her Lelouch disguise) is busy fangirling Suzaku in secret in class - and accidentally blurts out a very... strange request when Suzaku sees 'Lelouch' looking at him funny and asks him if something is wrong. (And as a result poor real and clueless Lelouch ends up on the receiving end of said request.)

I'd try to dig up scans for you but I don't really have the time at the moment ^^" The comm tags might prove useful though!

And also thanks for this - I've only seen the first 3 "Sayoko's Diary"/The Maid Witnessed it! entries so this is amusing new information for me!

Here's some of "The Maid Witnessed It!: Sayoko's Journal" from the English translation of the DVD booklets that came with my R4 DVDs.

VOLUME 03:

To commit a sin brings many woes. It was a few days before Suzaku came to the academy when Lelouch told me not to clean his room.
When he told me this, I thought Lelouch was at a stage in his life of transitioning to adulthood... but now that I think about it, how foolish of me.

Although there was supposed to be nobody in there, I heard a sound from Lelouch's room, so I knocked on the door. There was no response, so I was immediately worried that there was a robber in there.
Since Lelouch had told me not to clean the room and not to stay out of his room, I gathered my courage and went in. It was my priority to protect his belongings.

What I saw was gut-wrenching.

His bed sheets were messed up and for some strange reason the room smelled of cheese. And hanging on the wall was an outfit that was obviously made for a woman. On the floor was a pair of tossed off long boots...

I wonder if puberty could change a person so much?
It seems that Lelouch has stepped into the kinky world of cross-dressing.

I should've known. These days, Lelouch has been going out a lot lately, and he is talking on the phone discretely. Maybe he is getting together with people who share his interests. And I do know that there were rumors of an embarrassing picture of Lelouch that caused the cat panic the other day.

Ever since he was little, he only had his little sister as his closest relative. Yet he never showed weakness. So how could I belittle him for having a seret interest or two? But I wonder how shocked the Student Council would be? And what about Nunnally? Lelouch is all she has left. I can imagine her shock and confusion.

I made a promise then and there.
I will take Lelouch's secret to the grave. I need to protect Lelouch's only escape from his severe life.

VOLUME 04:

[Sayoko talks about Zero and the Black Knights]

I see: maybe it is the same thing that explains Lelouch's sudden interest in wearing women's clothes.
Maybe Lelouch can only see his "true self" when he wears the white outfit and boots. But actually, his taste has expanded even more. I even found a cat costume in his room the other day. Women's clothing, cat costume... what kind of a "true self" is Lelouch seeking?

[etc]

VOLUME 05:

Sometimes I wonder: is Lelouch not interested in women?

[Sayoko overhead that Shirley invited Lelouch to a concert]

Yet, Lelouch is as nonchalant as ever. It's true that Lelouch doesn't show his emotions much. But for a young man who is in his late teens, isn't love somewhat of a priority in life?
But Lelouch acts as if nothing happened.

Even today when I returned, I saw Lelouch rushing to Nunnally's room and whispering to her. I was talking medicine to her, but I felt I couldn't interrupt because Lelouch was holding Nunnally's hand, lost in their world.

Could Lelouch's secret... be more than just his dress-ups?

It was a while back, but Nunnally told me once that she and someone named Euphie were fighting over Lelouch. I know that when children are young, they are possessive, and they will say things like wanting to marry their older brother. But is that mentality still there between Lelouch and Nunnally? Maybe Lelouch cannot escape his desires, and instead turns to cross-dressing to fulfill his needs?

[etc]

VOLUME 07:

[Sayoko describes engaged Lloyd's Ashford visit]

I see. Now everything connects. If I allow Lelouch's secret to leak out, I'd fail as a maid. Think, Sayoko—that's right. I should start with disposing of the Gothic Lolita mail order receipt. Because I am the only one who can hide the fact that Lelouch has a thing for cross-dressing.

VOLUME 08:

[Sayoko joins the Black Knights, then cooks]

I went to Lelouch's room to let him know that I had no intention of going to the Specially Administered Zone of Japan, but he wasn't there. Not only that, but an academy uniform—a girl's uniform—was left on the bed. I should say what I want to say freely in this journal. So, I'll say it:
"Seriously!? He's into uniforms now!?"

[etc]

that episode of sayoko diary is in "DVD magazine I" (fan disc), it a funny picture drama! as mention above, she hears suzaku and lulu talking and misunderstand that they are in relationships (she thinks lulu is seme and suaku uke)loooooool

well sayoko actually secretly enjoying suzaku dating lulu thing cuz in code geass lost color psp&Ps2 game, she questions the player (you) about suzaku and lulu relationships, she was almost fangirling! lol yeah she is yaoi*fangirl.

I never saw sayokoxlulu pairing fanfic in JP or ENG, but I see a lot funny JP fanart/comic where sayoko disguises as lulu (in R2) and put her some moves on suzaku (like touching suzaku's hand and other places...) because she thought that there are in relationship, but when real lulu comes back to school he gets in trouble because of what she have done! lool

...i think talked a lot, so i will shut up.
