All right so the new Newtype, Animedia and Animage are out. You can find plenty of scans, questionaires, Ashford Gakuen translations, ect HERE.
I'm sure what will come out of that thread will be rife for discussion. After all, we already have Celiss Galvea's first tidbit of questions.
Q. For what reason did the Black Knights lay siege on the (Tokyo) settlement?
A. That was, of course, an attack on Cornelia and Britannia. She is still there in the settlement. Although it is obvious that Lelouch wants to get rid of it because it is an obstacle to the independence of Japan, more than anything he wants to hear the truth behind Marianne's assassination. In episodes 24 and 25, the inevitable decisive battle will take place in the settlement! (What, among ruins?)
Q. Even though Zero announced the independence of Japan, does he intend to run the country with his Black Knights?
A. Zero ordered Diethard to make the Black Knights the pillar of "Independent Japan". However, whether these ex-terrorists are capable of governing a country is a difficult question. In actuality, with Diethard and Toudou at the center of it, they are recruiting the right people to run the country. Will Tamaki's dream come true, I wonder? (Tamaki wants to be a government official; episode 21)
Q. Does Suzaku know Zero's real identity?
A. At the point of episode 23, things are still ambiguous. Suzaku knows that Zero had a hand in Euphie's death (well duh, he shot her), but whether he knows that is in fact Lelouch is still up in the air... What will happen when he finds out? Even though they are childhood friends and fellow members of the Student Council, Euphie's death will wipe clean all such connections.
Q. How far will Lelouch's Berserk Geass go?
A. The Geass used on Euphie was Lelouch's first Berserk Geass. If you think about it with Mao's case in mind, it seems that there is the risk of the Geass getting increasingly uncontrollable. (...besides not being able to turn it on and off?) Because Lulu's eyes are now permanently glowing (Geass works like a light beam, which is why sunglasses can be used a sort of defense), if he doesn't put on sunglasses etc things will turn ugly. What will happen if it continues to mutate? Is there a way to keep it in check? The answer to these are all unknown at the moment.
*It seems that among the VAs "Eyepatch Lelouch" is fairly popular.
Q. After episode 23, what is the next move Lelouch will make as Zero?
A. Because episode 23 ended with the destruction of the settlement's infrastructure, it would be only natural for Lelouch to launch an attack / rush into the settlement right after that. He probably intends to corner Cornelia, leaving her with no place to run. However, the Britannian government hall (the palace-like building with the flags) is still around, and the military still has power. Zero's victory is far from certain. Even if he does win, he still has a long way to go, what with having to create Japan and set out for Britannia itself...
But me, I'm really just going to sit here and try to make any sense at all of THIS image. I question Arthur being here, I really do.
