All I can say is... Whenever I think Geass has gone as far as they can on the slash/femmeslash spectrum, they still manage to surprise me. I think I saw the top picture in a yaoi once...

Yeah...Milly would fit the scenario better LOL.

Holy crap I used to rely on fanart to suit my fangirl-ish needs for certain fandoms

With code geass who needs fanart, they give you official fanservice!

Hahah oh wow, I am constantly amused by how much Geass caters to the fans.

But I am not by any stretch of the imagination *complaining* about ths...

It says there "comic anthology"... so it's somewhat like doujinshi? O_o?
Date/Time: 2007-06-25 15:34 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] aestalitz.livejournal.com
I think so too, seeing that there's a list of names, probably the artists involved. :D
Date/Time: 2007-06-25 16:02 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] runesque.livejournal.com
Doujinshi?? I thought these were compilations of official art! O_O I heard KimuTaka himself is contributing to the Knights book.
Date/Time: 2007-06-26 02:18 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] verity-isle.livejournal.com
A comic anthology is a series of official shorts, mostly of the crack variety (but occasionally shippy ones), by different artists. I've never heard of 'original' artists doing comic anthologies before, though...oh the strings they pull. (Referring to the CG mangaka's here)

Truth be told, I don't like comic anthologies. The art is usually too....off, half the time. But hey, official merchandise is official merchandise.
Date/Time: 2007-06-26 02:24 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] aestalitz.livejournal.com
Oh, becasue they're by different artists, I've always considered them doujinshi, despite being printed by a well-known company. I usually consider them "official" enough if the strips were by one artist and were printed in a regular column in a monthly magazine. XD;;

I don't read comic anthologies either. I think there's a Fafner one out there with artists including Kouga Yun, but the sample art put me off. *shallow for pretty art*
Date/Time: 2007-06-26 02:46 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] verity-isle.livejournal.com
I usually consider doujinshi to have more coherence than comic anthologies. The focus is usually on different things, even for crack doujinshi...but it seems we have different ideas of what makes a doujinshi? XD

But you know, this one looks better put together than most comic anthologies out there. Maybe it'll be nice.

(I actually do not like Kouga Yun. But it is amusing that Majiko is doing Knight and Nightmare of Nunnally's mangaka is doing Queen. XD)
Date/Time: 2007-06-26 02:51 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] aestalitz.livejournal.com
I guess so? XD In my case, I consider doujinshi something which is purely fanservice and by different artists not related to the actual series. I've heard of artists doing doujinshi out of their own work, whatever that means. O_o;; Some mangaka are fans of a series and draw art for the series, so I consider those as fanart. xD (e.g. shoujo mangaka Shinjou Mayu once drew Lelouch fanart in a mag)

I am</> looking forward to these anthologies, I must say. Fanservice calls for me!

(Me neither. I thought Loveless was boring. ._.)

HTML fail. :D

Well...artists doing doujinshi out of their own work would probably be like....if a fanficcer publishes a novel and then writes an off-canon fanfic on it? I know I'd want to do that, if only to explore other possibilities. XD I do consider those fanart, too---CLAMP did doujin for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and that made it into CLAMP in Wonderland, after all. (Actually, I believe the mpreg son of the doujinshi made it in) It's the whole 'endorsed by the official creator' thing that makes the difference for me.

(I've been reading her before Loveless, and she's been....on-and-off boring and entertaining in spades. Too uneven for me. Plus her art is bland.)

that is surprisingly uplifting. very happy to see it. i was beginning to believe the entire slash fandom in geass was dead, actually. maybe the geass crew realized this?
Date/Time: 2007-06-25 15:58 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] runesque.livejournal.com
You're referring to the subtlety? x_x. The femme!slash fandom is so indulged by canon that it churned out a self-pleasuring Nina, which is, hey, not so subtle. That said, yes, the production crew better realise the fangirls' demands for the next season.
Date/Time: 2007-06-25 18:56 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] hopefulgenius.livejournal.com
i did see it, but that's, well, CLAMP. i'm used to them giving me what i want. and then ripping it away.
i was sort of referring to the fandom too. the fanfiction.net section depresses me.

You've not gone to a doujinshi event in Japan then XD;;; In the front of the Day 1 SCC guide from May there are several comics about what not to do at Comic City with references to: FMA -Ed/Roy vs. Roy/Ed, Seed -AsuKira, and Geass -SuzuLulu though I *MUCH* prefer uke Suzaku

I'm sure the Comiket Geass section will be huge. ^^

Envying those of you who are going to Comiket.

gah, i wish i could go to things like that. not only am i not in/probably never will be in Japan, but i've never even been to a con over here. i'm a depressing person.
still, my hope is restored~! XD

Yeah, you totally need Milly in there to perfect it.
