I was searching Animate the other day looking for more Code Geass mechandise when I found This event page

I asked a friend who was fluent to translate the information and the gist is as follows:
On Mach 15 in Osaka and March 16 in Tokyo there is going to be a 60 minute Geass event with seiyuu including Fukuyama Jun. Attendees will also get to see a preview of the first episode for season 2.

Supposedly you can either win tickets from one of the anime magazines or apply at certain branches of Animate with your Animate card and I think turn in points towards a ticket.

Yeah, to win tickets through the magazines you need to send them an oufuku hagaki (which reminds me, I have to go to the post office tomorrow).

I read about this like last week. To get the ticket from Animate, you have to turn in one keihin point. It's a guaranteed ticket as opposed to the magazine lottery.

So you know that you get points when you shop at Animate. When you get a certain amount of points, you get a keihin point, or you can get however much yen off your next purchase. You can turn in the keihin points for goods that can only be gotten by using the points (ie. not for sale stuff).

Dang! So since I have like 70,000 points on my Animate card if I was going to Japan then I could get a ticket? O_O Do they always have merchandise you can get? I've always wondered if that was what the stuff they had on the 1st floor was.

Holy shit that's a lot of points! Check your last receipt if you have it. At the bottom, it should tell you how many points you have. They always have merchandise you can get, yes, though some stores might have different ones and some might be sold out. (Ikebukuro Animate didn't have anything good left but the Shibuya one had the Takaba from Finder no Hyouteki tosho card so I got that.)

I've bought a lot of DVDs over the years for other people. It really really adds up fast since most are 7200 yen a pop. I've lost my receipts prob. >>; But I know I definitely have some of those points because I remember having filled an entire card when I had my points transferred in March 07.

I bet that is how one gets those giant UFO Catchers I always thought looked awesome. >>; Do they still give a bonus when you complete a card? I know you use to get a phone card and another 1000 yen off, or is that done with the new format?

Hmm.... I don't know if there is a limit now so I'm not sure about any bonuses. Maybe if you get a certain amount of keihin points....? But I checked their policy thingy on the point card and under the tokuten area, it just said that you can either exchange your points to save on your next purchase, or turn in keihin points for stuff.
